BrewDog will open a new bar at Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal in December, in partnership with the SSP group. The fresh alliance will bring several more BrewDog venues to major airports and railway stations in the UK over the next few years.Â

It has taken over a restaurant unit that was previously occupied by another Mexican brand, Benito’s Hat, in a deal brokered by Davis Coffer Lyons, who have also recently acquired a site for Chipotle in East Dulwich. The brand currently has 16 sites in the UK, with several more to follow soon. Â

The Rio Brazilian Steakhouse brand is opening a new restaurant on Newgate Street in Chester shortly. It is in a unit that was previously occupied by the group’s sister steakhouse brand Tomahawk, which is now looking for a site elsewhere in Chester.Â

Thai brand Giggling Squid has submitted a planning application to open a new restaurant on Cathedral Green in Exeter. It wants to move into a retail unit there that is being split into two. Â

South American restaurant group Fazenda will open its first London restaurant in August, at the Bishopsgate Tower development. The two-floor site will have 170 covers and will be Fazenda’s biggest site yet. It is a sixth location after Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham.Â

Plant-based concept En Root has just opened a fourth restaurant in London’s Tulse Hill. En Root’s three other sites are in Brixton, Clapham and Peckham.Â

Liverpool’s Scruffy Murphy’s Irish bar concept is opening a second site in the summer, on Mathew Street. The original Scruffy Murphy’s, run by the Harrison’s Bar Group, is on Harrington Street.Â

The Six by Nico brand plans to open on John Dalton Street in Manchester, in a unit previously run as a bar and restaurant within the Yotel hotel. It will be a second Manchester site for Six by Nico, joining one on Spring Gardens. The brand currently operates nine restaurants in the UK.Â
