The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Urban Greens is launching a new 2,300 square feet flagship site at Wrights Arcade in Kensington in January—its fourth location after Canary Wharf, St James’s Park and St Paul’s. Argentinian restaurant brand Chango Empanadas will open at the neighbouring Kensington Arcade early next year—its sixth location. 

 

Wingstop opened its second restaurant in Scotland this week, at the St Enoch centre in Glasgow. Another Scottish site follows at Fountain Park in Edinburgh on 11 December. This will be a second Edinburgh location for Wingstop after an opening in the St James Quarter. 

 

The Olive Tree Brasserie Mediterranean restaurant group will open on South Parade in Leeds shortly. It will be a fourth location for the brand, after Chester, Lytham and Stockton Heath. 

 

The Roxy Leisure group’s new King Pins bowling, competitive socialising, bar and restaurant concept is opening a second site in Manchester, at the Arndale centre. The other Manchester location is at the Trafford centre. 

 

Loungers has announced plans for the opening of a new Consurio Lounge by the Castle Court shopping centre in Caerphilly. It is also planning an opening at the Lexicon centre in Bracknell, in a unit previously occupied by Prezzo, according to local media. Loungers has also recently confirmed new Lounge openings in Carlisle, Louth and Hexham. 

 

KFC has announced ten new openings over the next three months, many of them at Moto service stations. They will be at Birch East, Chieveley, Frankley North, Grantham, Hilton Park, Lancaster, Southwaite, Thurrock and Medway and Washington. Drive-throughs are also planned in Reading, Stratford-on-Avon and Stroud. 

 

Five Guys has submitted proposals to open a restaurant at the Fife Leisure Park in Dunfermline, local media report. 

 

The Tap & Tandoor Indian restaurant and bar concept will launch at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth in January. It will be a fourth location after Peterborough, Solihull and Southampton. 

 

The Real Greek will open its new restaurant in Braintree Village on 4 December, local media report. 

 

Shepherd Neame is opening a pub in Herne Bay. It has taken on the Ship Inn from the Stonegate group. 

 

Five Guys opened its latest new restaurant at the McArthurGlen designer outlet in Cheshire Oaks this week. 

 

The Camm & Hooper group is opening in Glasgow, after acquiring the Platform Glasgow venue underneath the city’s main station. It will be a first site outside London for the group. 

 

The Pachamama group is opening a new Mediterranean restaurant called Effie in Bayswater. It is part of a redevelopment of an old shopping centre there. Pachamama currently has five restaurants and bars around London. 

 

The Black Rock Restaurants group is opening a new concept on Boyce’s Street. It will succeed Black Rock’s Coal Shed restaurant, which is moving to a larger site on North Street.
