New Openings Roundup 3rd May

The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

The Ivy restaurant group has submitted plans to open a venue in a Grade I listed building on Castle Street in Liverpool—its first location in the city.  

 

The Various Eateries group will open a branch of its Coppa Club brand at the Hayes development in Cardiff on 13 May. It will be known as The Cardiff Townhouse. The opening will be a 13th location for Coppa Club, as well as a first in Wales. 

 

The Lane7 group has confirmed two new openings in Newcastle. It will launch a 28,000 square feet site at the Gate in the summer, with bowling, golf, shuffleboard, darts, pool and an arcade as well as food and drink. Another site in the city will follow later in the year, with the format yet to be announced.  

 

Wagamama opened its latest new restaurant last week at the Dome leisure centre in Doncaster. It has also submitted plans to open at Clarks Village in Street in Somerset, local media report. 

 

Steak and fire cooking restaurant group Pasture is launching at Colmore Row in Birmingham in late May. It has taken on a 6,500 square feet site that used to be a bank building. The opening will be the largest Pasture site yet and third in total after Bristol and Cardiff, where the group also operates bars.  

 

Five Guys opens its latest new restaurant at the Croydon Valley retail and leisure park next week. 

 

Liverpool-based chicken and burger takeaway Nashville Cluck opened a second site in the city this week, at Baltic Market. It is its first eat-in restaurant. 

 

A new pizza restaurant concept called Doughnation is opening at 3 Henrietta Street in Covent Garden.

 

 

London-based Hawaiian group Honi Poké is to open at Trinity Leeds in the summer, local media report. The brand currently has 17 sites in London and one in Manchester. 

 

Newcastle-based Burger Drop is to open in Whitley Bay this summer. It will be a first opening under franchise for the brand, after two locations on Heaton Road and Westgate Road in Newcastle.  

 

@HomePizza, a Buckinghamshire-based pizza group, has just opened its first London site on Bank Street in Canary Wharf. Its other three restaurants are in Beaconsfield, Chesham and Gerrards Cross. 

 

Singaporean concept Nusa Kitchen, based in the City of London, has just opened a seventh site on Queens Head Passage at St Paul’s.  

 

Mexican brand Plan Burrito has just opened on the high street in Gillingham in Kent—its 12th location. 

 

Harrogate restaurant Farmhouse is opening a second site on Lands Lane in Leeds towards the end of the summer. It is taking over a unit that was previously occupied by ASK Italian. 

 

London-based healthy eating brand Volonte has submitted plans to open a third site in the summer, on Mortimer Street in Fitzrovia. 

 

German Doner Kebab has just opened at Cabot Circus in Bristol—its 140th site in the UK. 

 

Heavenly Desserts opened at the MK1 retail and leisure development in Milton Keynes this week.
