New Openings Roundup 6th April

The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Wagamama will open a new flagship restaurant on Prospect Way at the Battersea Power Station development on 17 April. It will have 150 covers. Wagamama now has just over 150 restaurants in the UK.

 

The St Austell Brewery has announced a new upmarket sports bar concept and opening in partnership with the team behind the ETM Group. Ludo Sports Bar & Kitchen will open in mid-May on Brunel Square in Bath, in a unit previously run by the brewery as Graze. More joint Ludo openings are planned in the west and south west of England.

 

Burger & Sauce is to open in cities including Liverpool and Sheffield after agreeing several new franchise deals. The new restaurants will launch later this year. It has also set out plans to open more sites in the Midlands, where the bulk of its restaurants are located—including in Sheldon, Acocks Green, Coventry and Longbridge.

 

Loungers is opening a new Lounge in the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds. The Bianco Lounge is due to open in mid-May. It follows another recent Lounge opening in Leeds, at the Thorpe Park development.

 

Pan-Asian brand Banana Tree opened its latest new restaurant in Covent Garden this week. It is a tenth location and the first opening since it was acquired by the Big Table Group. The new restaurant is on Wellington Street, in a unit previously occupied by Café Rouge. Several more Café Rouge-to-Banana Tree conversions are planned in London.

 

Indian street food and craft beer concept Bundobust has confirmed a new opening in the Bennetts Hill area of Birmingham in the summer. It will be a fifth location for the Bundobust brand, after Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester, where it has a restaurant and a brewery bar.

 

The Miss Millie’s Fried Chicken brand is to open on petrol station forecourts under a franchise deal with the Motor Fuel Group. The first openings are due in Somerset. Miss Millie’s is based in Bristol and has 12 locations.

 

Balham’s Mexican restaurant 1910 Cantina is opening a second site on New Kings Road in Parsons Green in the next few weeks.

 

US fried chicken brand Wingstop has confirmed plans to open in Grays Brewery Yard in Chelmsford in Essex in early June.

 

The Tinworks Brewing Co in Llanelli has just opened a new taproom and pizza restaurant in the town, local media report. It is called The Tinworks. The brewery also has a taproom at its headquarters.

 

The Midlands-based, American-style Burger Boi brand has submitted plans to open at the Shrub Hill retail development in Worcester. Burger Boi currently has eight restaurants in the Midlands, and more openings are being lined up in cities including Derby.
