The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Wagamama has just opened its latest new restaurant on London Road in Southend, in a unit previously occupied by Bella Italia.

 

The Rosa’s Thai Cafe brand opens on Wimbledon Hill Road in south London next week. It will be the group’s 30th opening in the UK.

 

Caribbean brand Turtle Bay has submitted plans to open a new restaurant in Blackpool, local media report. It wants to refurbish the ground floor of an old hotel on Talbot Square in the town.

 

The Brother Marcus Mediterranean restaurant group will open its fourth London restaurant on Pelham Street in Kensington in mid-September. The brand’s first three sites are in Borough Yards, Spitalfields and Angel.

 

Pizza Pilgrims will open its 19th restaurant in mid-September, on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park. The unit previously operated under Pizza Pilgrims’ Slice brand.

 

Shoryu Ramen opened its first restaurant under franchise last week, on Kensington High Street. Several more franchised launches are in the pipeline.

 

Pan Asian fast casual brand Itsu has just opened at the Glades development in Bromley.

 

London gin brand Jim & Tonic has just opened a new bar, restaurant and coffee shop on High Street in Stratford. The business also runs sites at Mercato in Mayfair and Elephant & Castle, and in Brixton Village.

 

The Fulham Shore group has confirmed fit-out schedules for four new Franco Manca restaurants—in Cardiff, Chichester, Hove and Lincoln.

 

Five Guys has submitted plans to open at the Tower Park development in Poole. It wants to convert a unit previously occupied by Frankie & Bennys.

 

The Mission Mars group has confirmed an opening of its Albert’s Schloss beer house concept on Bold Street in Liverpool for November. It will be a third site for the brand, after Manchester and Birmingham.

 

A large new sports bar called Pitchside is opening at Skylight in Tobacco Dock in east London. It will have space for 500 people, and will be open in time for the football World Cup in November.

 

Pub group Fuller’s is to open in Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds after announcing it is close to completing the purchase of a building that previously operated as a tea room. The new pub will have 110 covers inside and nearly 300 outside.

 

The Loungers group plans to open a Lounge in Kendal in Cumbria, local media report. It wants to convert a vacant retail unit in the town.

 

Chinese brand Xiongqi Hotpot has submitted plans to open a seventh UK site, at the Highcross centre in Leicester. The brand’s other six restaurants are in Birmingham, Coventry, London, Manchester, Sheffield and Southampton.

 

Operation Falafel, an international street food style concept with sites in the Middle East and the US, is opening on Chalk Farm Road in London’s Camden in mid-September.

 

Fast Chinese noodles brand Oodles has just opened in Peterborough—its 35th branch in the UK.
