The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

JD Wetherspoon has announced a partnership with Haven to operate pubs on its holiday parks. The first opening under the deal will be at the Primrose Valley park in Filey north Yorkshire in March. JD Wetherspoon has meanwhile opened its new Captain Flinders pub on Eversholt Street near London’s Euston station this week. It follows a £2.3m investment in the site. 

 

PizzaExpress is opening a new restaurant on Banbury Road in the Summertown area of Oxford in late Spring, local media report. 

 

Wagamama is launching at the Bentley Bridge Leisure Park in Wolverhampton in early February. The 154-cover restaurant will be Wagamama’s 160th restaurant in the UK. 

 

Nando’s is preparing to open a new restaurant at the Bishop Centre near Taplow in Buckinghamshire, local media report. 

 

Franco Manca has opened its new flagship restaurant in Brixton. It is a relocation of the brand’s first ever restaurant. Franco Manca has also just opened in Portrush—its first site in Northern Ireland. Locations for forthcoming openings include Plymouth and Liverpool. 

 

Mexican group Wahaca will open a new 150-cover restaurant at the Paddington Square development in London in April. It will be Wahaca’s first new opening in six years, and 14th location in total. 

 

Italian restaurant group Emilia’s Crafted Pasta opened on Baker Street this week. It is the brand’s fourth London site, after Aldgate, Canary Wharf and St Katharine Docks. 

 

Upmarket cinema, food and drink brand Everyman has agreed a deal to open at The Brentford Project, a new residential and leisure development in west London. The 11,000 square feet venue will make Everyman the anchor leisure tenant. Other venues confirmed for the scheme include Gail’s and all-day restaurant concept Rottura. 

 

London cocktail bar concept Three Sheets is to launch a second site on Manette Street in Soho in March. It will be an all-day operation and joins the original Three Sheets bar in Dalston. 

 

A New York style pizza concept called Alley Cats has just opened on Paddington Street in London. It has been set up by ATFC, the group behind brands including Angus Steakhouses. 

 

Edinburgh-based bar and restaurant Herringbone, run by the Buzzworks group, has submitted plans for a fourth location in the Barnton area.  

 

Hovarda, the Mediterranean restaurant in Soho run by the Good Food Society, is launching a second location at Wood Wharf in London’s Canary Wharf. The 140-cover restaurant and bar will be on a floating pavilion there.  

 

Slim Chickens has submitted plans to open at the Northern Gateway Leisure Park near Colchester in Essex. 

 

Acropolis, a Greek street food concept with several sites in the north east, has just opened at the Gateshead Metrocentre. 

 

Archies, the north west based diner-style burger and milkshake brand, is opening a new venue at the Trafford Centre. It will have a roller rink and arcade area as well as a restaurant, and will be called Archie’s Atomic. Archies currently has five sites in Manchester, plus operations in Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool.
