Mitchells & Butlers’ steakhouse brand Miller & Carter opened its latest new restaurant on Lendal in York late last week.
The Ivy group has received local council permission to open a brasserie on Castle Street in Liverpool, in a Grade I-listed former bank building.
Mexican brand Boojum is opening a second site on Parliament Street in Nottingham in the autumn. It follows Boojum’s launch in Leeds earlier this year. The group plans to open up to 25 UK sites over the next five years, to join its five locations in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Italian street food concept Dez Amore has opened its first standalone restaurant—a 1,200 square feet unit on Sloane Stanley’s Fulham Road in London. Dez Amore also operates seven market-led venues including Camden, Mercato Mayfair, Boxpark and Wood Wharf.
Mother Mercy, a cocktail bar group with three sites in Newcastle, is opening a fourth location in the Sheepfolds Stables development in Sunderland.
Wingstop has just opened at the Mall in Wood Green. The 58-cover site is Wingstop’s 48th UK location.
Pret A Manger and Black Sheep Coffee have both joined the line-up at the Liberty Romford shopping centre. They have taken 4,100 and 3,300 square feet units respectively.
Cumbria-based Fell Brewery is opening in Manchester after acquiring the Pelican bar in the Northern Quarter, previously operated by Squawk. Fell Brewery’s other sites are in Cartmel, Chorlton, Kendal and Penrith.
Lina Stores has confirmed an eighth location on Shoreditch High Street. It is scheduled to launch in September, with an 85-cover restaurant area and a basement bar.
Greek street food style concept Thatziki, which has three sites in Chorlton, Salford and Warrington, is opening a fourth operation at the Trinity Leeds centre in the next few weeks.
Italian restaurant brand Piccolino opened its latest new site in Henley-on-Thames last week. It now has 21 restaurants.
Food hall group Mercato Metropolitano opens its fourth London market on Thursday—Mercato Ilford. The other three Mercatos are in Elephant & Castle, Mayfair and Wood Wharf.
Manchester’s Nell’s Pizza concept is about to open in Altrincham. It will be a fourth site for the brand, after the Northern Quarter, Chorlton and Kampus.
Stroud’s Japanese noodle concept Daikoku is launching a second site at Gloucester Food Dock in August.
Burger and dessert concept Haute Dolci is about to open at Springfield Quay in Glasgow. It now has around 20 sites including two in Scotland, in Edinburgh and Perth.
A line-up of concepts has been announced for Stack, the collective of traders at Strawberry Place in Newcastle that is due to open soon.
Japanese brand Taro has just opened two new restaurants, in Catford in Brentwood. They take the group’s total number of sites to eight.
