JD Wetherspoon says it will open a new pub called The Star Light at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 4 on 2 October, in a unit that was previously occupied by Carluccio’s. It will have 140 covers. It is Wetherspoon’s eighth airport pub.

 

The Woodhead Restaurant Group has opened a fifth location—a French concept called 64 Goodge Street in Fitzrovia. The 1,600 square feet site is also the group’s third restaurant in the Fitzrovia area.

 

The Real Greek is preparing to open a new restaurant in Braintree Village in Essex, according to local media.

 

Indian street food brand Mowgli is preparing to open a new restaurant in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, according to local media. It will be on Abbeygate Street in the town, in a unit that was occupied until recently by Bill’s.

 

Loungers says it will open a new branch of its Cosy Club bar and restaurant in an old bank building on Cornmarket in Oxford on 9 October. Loungers has also just opened the Acordo Lounge in Deal in Kent—its 197th Lounge so far.

 

Oakman Inns opens its latest new pub this weekend—The George in Ludlow. It is the result of a conversion of a former PizzaExpress restaurant unit on Castle Street.in the town.

 

The XP Factory group will open a new Boom Battle Bar at the Riverside complex in Canterbury shortly.

 

GAIL’s has just opened a new 5,600 square feet unit at the Ashley Centre in Epsom in Surrey.

 

Rosa’s Thai is opening on Frederick Street in Edinburgh, local media report. It will be the second Rosa’s location in Scotland, following a soon-to-open restaurant on West Nile Street in Glasgow.

 

The Big Table Group’s pan-Asian brand Banana Tree is opening at the Bullring in Birmingham next week. It will be the operator’s 13th location and first in the Midlands. Another new opening is coming soon in Windsor.

 

Heavenly Desserts has reached the milestone of 50 sites in the UK with an opening on Union Street in Aberdeen—its fourth location in Scotland.

 

The Sticky Mango Asian restaurant in London’s Waterloo has just opened a second site in Tower Bridge, with another new venue to follow in Islington in September.

 

Harrogate all-day restaurant Farmhouse is opening a second site on Lands Lane in Leeds, in a unit that was previously occupied by ASK Italian.

 

Gravity Active Entertainment has launched its new flagship Gravity MAX venue at Liverpool ONE. It is a 100,000 square feet unit with 12 different competitive socialising and immersive activities, plus food and drink.

 

Slim Chickens has just opened at the Arc shopping centre in Bury St Edmunds. It is in a unit previously run as a Carluccio’s—a sister brand under the Boparan Restaurant Group. Slim Chickens has also just opened a restaurant at the York Designer Outlet, and local media report that it is also lining up a new venue in Swindon.

 

The Island Poké brand has just opened on West Street in Brighton and Fenchurch Street in the City of London. Island Poke now has a total of 19 sites, 16 of them in London.

 

The Wiltshire-based Chickpea Group has acquired a sixth pub—the Silver Plough in Pitton near Salisbury. It will have rooms and a pizza menu as well as a pub area, and is due to reopen shortly.

 

Plans have been approved for a new drive-through Five Guys restaurant near the A11 at Barton Mills in Suffolk.
