The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Dishoom is preparing to open in Brighton, local media report. It has applied for a licence for a building on East Street in The Lanes, in a unit that was previously occupied by a restaurant and bar called Socialite. It will be Dishoom’s first restaurant south of London.

 

Caribbean restaurant and bar brand Turtle Bay is opening in Blackpool in the summer, local media report. It has taken on a 3,800 square feet restaurant unit on the ground floor of a hotel on Blackpool’s Promenade that was previously occupied by Che Bar and Coco.

 

Shake Shack has confirmed plans to open on Clapham High Street by Clapham Common in London. It will be its 14th restaurant in the UK and the first in south London.

 

US fried chicken brand Wingstop is opening at the Brewery Quarter in Cardiff in early May—its first outlet in Wales. It has taken over a unit that was previously occupied by Busaba.

 

US-style restaurant and bar group Dirty Bones opened this week at the Boxpark development in Croydon, under a partnership with delivery kitchen operator Reef.

 

JD Wetherspoon opens its major new pub at the O2 centre in London next Tuesday, called The Stargazer.

 

Brands including Caffe Carluccios, Harry Ramsden’s and Ed’s Easy Diner have opened concessions within the Sainsbury’s superstore in Stevenage. It continues a rollout of Sainsbury’s The Restaurant Hub concept in partnership with Boparan Restaurant Group, which has now reached ten stores.

 

US brand Slim Chickens is opening a restaurant at the leisure park in Crawley, under franchise with JRK Restaurants.

 

Mexican restaurant brand Zambrero is opening a new restaurant in Cambridge, after receiving approval for plans for a unit on Sidney Street. Zambrero currently has five UK sites.

 

Borough Market’s plant-based restaurant Mallow is expanding with a second opening in Canary Wharf. The 150-cover restaurant at Park Drive is due to launch in June.

 

The Midlands-based Burger & Sauce brand is opening on the high street in Sutton Coldfield towards the end of March. It is a franchise opening and the tenth Burger & Sauce restaurant.

 

London street food and delivery concept Souvlaki Street is opening a first permanent site in East Dulwich later in the Spring, close to the market where it has previously operated.

 

US fast food brand Wendy’s is to open a new restaurant under franchise later this year in the Horsefair shopping centre in Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, local media report.

 

Liverpool’s Italian small plates restaurant Luca is to open a second site in Ormskirk in early April.

 

South East England based pizza brand Dough&Co is launching a new restaurant on the high street in Maldon in Essex. It will be its 11th location.

 

Noodle bar brand Chopstix has just opened in the Lexicon shopping centre in Bracknell as it continues a rapid rollout.
