The Chick ‘n’ Sours brand is launching a third venue at the Corner Corner food hall and events space at Canada Water in early April. The other two branches are in Haggerston and Seven Dials.
The Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock has announced new openings from four three US-based brands: Wingstop, Wendy’s and Chipotle. Gelateria concept Amorino is also launching there. Lakeside now has around 50 eating options.
Pizza Pilgrims will launch on Rose Street in Edinburgh on 14 April—its first restaurant in Scotland.
US seafood restaurant brand Captain D’s is to launch into the UK under a 20-unit franchise deal. Its first opening will be at a yet to be confirmed location in Kent in August, with Hampshire and Sussex locations to follow. Captain D’s currently has around 530 restaurants in 23 US states.
Dubai-based BonBird is launching into the UK under an arrangement with the City Restaurants Group. It is targeting 50 openings in the next five year. The City group is also rolling out Afrikana in the UK.
A major new food hall called St Paul’s Market is opening in Birmingham in the Summer. It will be in an old warehouse on Mary Ann Street in the city’s Jewellery Quarter, and is a collaboration between Independent Birmingham, Liverpool’s Baltic Market and mobile Thai concept Buddha Belly.
The McManus Pub Company is opening in Northamptonshire after acquiring the Montagu Arms in the village of Barnwell. McManus now has 18 pubs.
Irish pub brand Nancy Spains launches on Hilton Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter this week—its third site and first outside London, where it operates in Monument and Shoreditch.
Sichuanese brand Noodle & Beer has opened on Wardour Street in Chinatown London. It is the concept’s second site after Bell Lane in the City. The Wardour Street branch has 42 covers across two floors.
Burger restaurant group The Beefy Boys has just opened its fourth location on Milsom Street in Bath. The other three restaurants are in Cheltenham, Hereford and Shrewsbury.
Welsh restaurant group Dylan’s has set 4 April for the opening of its fifth site in Barmouth. The first four restaurants are in Menai Bridge, Criccieth, Llandudno and Conwy. A sixth site is following in Llanaber.
The Emerald Hospitality Group is to open three new food and drink concepts at the old Telegraph building on Fleet Street in London towards the end of the year. They will include an Italian concept called Casa Como, a steakhouse called Everything on Fire and a Japanese venue called Dining on the Clouds.
Indian restaurant and craft beer group Tap and Tandoor is to open a fifth location in Bournemouth in April. It has taken on a restaurant unit that was previously occupied by Wildwood.
Harneet Baweja, the founder of the Gunpowder restaurant group, is opening a new Thai concept called Fortune Fried Chicken at Spitalfields market in London. It is scheduled to launch in May.
Hollywood Bowl has just opened at the Animate leisure development in Preston—its 74th UK location.
