The Temper group opens its latest new restaurant in the Television Centre development in White City in London next week. It will be a new sister brand to the main Temper concept called Temper Burger, with an emphasis on smashed burgers. Temper’s other restaurants are in Covent Garden, Paddington Shoreditch and Soho.
Sides, the fried chicken restaurant founded by YouTube collective the Sidemen, will open at the Lakeside shopping centre next week. It will be its seventh location in the UK, after Dalston, Bluewater, Merry Hill, Manchester and Boxpark in Croydon and Wembley.
The Thai Leisure Group opened a branch of its buffet concept Thaikhun Street at the Meadowhall centre in Sheffield this week. It is a second location for the spin-off concept after the Trafford Centre in Manchester.
Thai restaurant group Giggling Squid is to open on Park Row in Leeds. It has submitted plans to convert a Grade II listed old bank building there.
Flat Iron opened its latest restaurant at Hammersmith Broadway this week. It is the brand’s 13th site in London and 15th in total.
Six by Nico plans to open on Queensferry Street in Edinburgh. It would be a second restaurant in the city, after Hanover Street. Six by Nico’s other forthcoming openings include Oxford’s Westgate centre in mid-May.
US fried chicken restaurant brand Wingstop is to launch on the Boulevard at the Midsummer Place centre in Milton Keynes.
African restaurant group Afrikana has just opened in Hayes—its fourth site in London and 16th in total.
Pan-Asian on-the-go brand Itsu opens under franchise on the high street in Exeter next week.
Entertainment and competitive socialising led group Big Fang Collective is to open a first site in London later in the year. It will be a 30,000 square feet space in Waterloo, with the concept for the location to be confirmed. Big Fang currently has six sites with two more to follow this year, in Bristol and Nottingham.
US brand Wendy’s has announced several more new openings as it continues a rapid rollout in the UK, including in Colchester, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Sheffield and Southend.
Sri Lankan London restaurant Colombo Kitchen is opening a second site on Upper Richmond Road in Putney shortly.
Manchester-based pizza group Nell’s is opening a fourth site on Clarence Street near Albert Square in the centre of the city. Nell’s also has sites at the Kampus development, in the Northern Quarter and in Chorlton.
The expanding Bold Street Coffee group is opening a fifth site in Manchester’s Spinningfields area. It has two other sites in Manchester and two in Liverpool.
Greek restaurant and hotel brand Ergon House will open a 20,000 square feet venue in a refurbished heritage-listed building on King Street in London’s Covent next year. It will be the group’s first opening outside Greece.
SanHao, a hand-pulled noodle and soup restaurant concept, will open on Gerrard Street in London’s Chinatown later this year. It has been developed by the team behind Hong Kong style café The Eight and pan-Asian concept YiQi.
