Dishoom soft-launched its new restaurant in Manchester last weekend. It served 1,000 people on its first day, the Manchester Evening News reported. The official opening date is next Thursday (6 December).
Honest Burgers has announced its first opening in Wales—on Church Street in Cardiff. It is scheduled to launch in early summer.
Leon has revealed its first opening in Ireland—in the Dundrum Town Centre development in Dublin. It has taken a 1,900 square feet site close to brands in the centre including Wagamama, Five Guys and Jamie’s Italian, and is scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2019. It follows a franchise deal for Ireland that aims to launch up to 20 Leon restaurants in Ireland in the next five years.
Pan-Asian on the go operator Itsu has just opened at Gatwick Airport. It is at the South Terminal. Helen Teschauer, food and beverage business development manager at Gatwick, said: “This is a key restaurant opening for Gatwick… feedback suggests that our 46 million annual passengers appreciate fresh, healthy food options being available at the airport while they await their flight, and Itsu meets this demand perfectly.”
BrewDog opened its 11th London bar on Friday (30 November)—on Coldharbour Lane in Brixton. It has 22 beers on tap and a burger-focused menu. BrewDog has also announced just opened a new bar under the name of the Draft House, which it acquired earlier this year—on Charterhouse Street in Farringdon.
Nando’s says it will open a new restaurant on New Street in Birmingham early in 2019. It has taken on a former bank building with 5,100 square feet of space.
Bristol-based brewery Good Chemistry Brewing is to open its first pub on Chandos Road in the Redland area of the city in the next few weeks. It will be called The Good Measure and will have other craft beers as well as their own, plus natural wines and spirits.
Ossett Brewery is to open a new craft beer, artisan gin and premium coffee venue under its Craft Asylum brand on East Parade in Leeds shortly. It follows the launch of the first Craft Asylum in Granary Wharf in Leeds in mid-November.
Shaftesbury has announced that international cyber café and gaming brand Wanyoo Café is to open its first site in Europe on Charing Cross Road in London this winter. It will be open from 10am to 10pm every day, with 5,330 square feet of space over two floors and facilities for e-sports gaming and co-working as well as food and drink. Wanyoo was founded in China and now has more than 1,100 cafes in 50 cities worldwide.

American deep south-style barbecue group Hickory’s Smokehouse opened a ninth restaurant at Gresty Green in Shavington near Crewe early this week. The brand also operates restaurants in Burton Green, Castle Bromwich, Chester, Rhos-on-Sea, Southport, Wall Heath, West Kirby and Worcester.
The Adventure Leisure Group is to launch its golf, bar and restaurant brand Mr Mulligan’s at the Broadway Plaza complex in Ladywood in Birmingham in the next few weeks. There are eight other Mr Mulligan’s sites in Bournemouth, Castleford, Cheltenham, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Sidcup, Stevenage and Tonbridge.
The Office Group and celebrity chef Luke Thomas have joined forces on a new café and restaurant concept for the ground floor of TOG’s new Tintagel House development on Albert Embankment. The 1,700 square feet venue is an all-day operation with a grab-and-go element. Shelley Sandzer acted for TOG in the deal.
The team behind the Dark Horse bar in Bath is opening a new cocktail bar in Cotham Hill in Bristol called Crying Wolf. The 75-cover bar will open next Friday (7 December).
