New Openings Round-Up 4 June

The latest news on venues opening across the U.K.

Flight Club has set 24 June for the opening of its new Leeds venue. The site on South Parade will have a capacity of 400 people, with 13 darts boards. Flight Club has sites in London, Birmingham and Manchester, and its next new opening in the summer will be in Bristol.

 

Afrikana has opened its seventh restaurant, and its first in London, on Kingsland High Street in Dalston. Afrikana has sites in Aldridge, Blackburn, Cardiff and Derby, and is also planning launches in Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham and Stoke-on-Trent.

 

Beer + Burger Store has just launched its fifth London site, in Walthamstow. The other four Beer + Burger Store locations are in Dalston, King’s Cross, Willesden Green and the O2.

 

Ivy Asia from the Ivy Collection is opening a third all-day location on King’s Road in Chelsea in the summer. It will join Ivy Asia sites in St Paul’s and Manchester.

 

The Inception Group has launched Mr Fogg’s Secret Garden, a Victorian walled garden style cocktail bar on Bruton Street in Mayfair, close to its Mr Fogg’s Residence venue. It refurbished the site from an old car park space in just a few weeks.

 

London’s Bao group is to open its sixth site on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch. Bao Noodle Shop will open on 23 June.

 

Pan-Asian on-the-go brand Itsu will open its first out-of-town site at the Reading Gate retail park shortly.

 

The team behind the Maray restaurant and bar group in Liverpool will open a new pub called The One O’Clock Gun at the city’s Royal Albert Dock at the end of June. Also opening up there soon is The Long Shot, a bar from the team behind Liverpool’s Present Company. The Long Shot will have room for 220 people over two floors.

 

The Pub Invest Group in Liverpool has created a bar called Revolver on Temple Court. It is a refurbishment of a former Revolution bar, and is themed on the Beatles. The Pub Invest Group has around 30 venues in the north west.

 

Derbyshire-based Bespoke Inns is to open a new venue in Mickleover, called Binary Bar & Restaurant in October. It will join three other Bespoke Inns sites, in Willington, Melbourne and Repton.

 

Yorkshire fish and chip restaurant group The Wetherby Whaler has just opened in Tadcaster. The Wetherby Whaler now has seven sites around the county.

 

Fenwick department store in Newcastle has opened a new restaurant and cocktail bar on the fourth floor. It is called Roof Thirty Nine.

 

Slim Chickens is opening at the McArthur Glen outlet in Cannock, local media report. It will join brands there including Wagamama, Five Guys and Starbucks.

 

202 Kitchen, the Instagram-friendly Birmingham restaurant and bar, is opening a permanent site in Manchester’s Spinningfields. It follows a spell as a pop-up in Manchester last summer 202 Kitchen has taken on units previously occupied by Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Zizzi, and will knock them together into a 7,000 square feet venue.

 

Preston-based Spanish restaurant Fino Tapas is to open two new sites in Lytham and Blackpool this summer. It has also lined up openings in Kendal and Chester before the end of 2021.

 

The D&D London group has just opened a pop-up restaurant called Anders Terrace on Endeavour Square in Stratford. It has an Alpine themed food and drink menu

 

Taco Bell has submitted plans to open a drive-through restaurant at St Oswalds Retail Park in Gloucester. It plans to take on a unit previously occupied by Frankie & Benny’s.
