The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

BrewDog has announced plans for a major new flagship bar at the old Waterloo Eurostar terminal. There will be a food truck, bowling alley, coffee bar and working spaces, plus a slide to get between the two levels of the venue, which covers 26,500 square feet.

 

Hawksmoor has set 25 November for the opening of its latest new restaurant in London’s Canary Wharf. It is a floating three-level site in the docks at Wood Wharf with 160 covers, with space for 120 more in a bar called the Lowback and two terraces.

 

New World Trading Company has started recruiting for an opening of its bar and restaurant brand The Botanist at Cathedral Square in Worcester.

 

The Nightcap group says it will open three new branches of its London Cocktail Club bar concept in the second half of November—on Corn Street in Bristol, Queen Victoria Street in London and Gun Street in Reading. They will bring Nightcap’s estate to 22, with 11 more sites at the legal stage. The Bristol opening will be the biggest London Cocktail Club venue yet.

 

Tapas Revolution is opening on Queen Square in Liverpool, having taken on a unit previously occupied by La Tasca. The brand has nine other locations around the UK, in London, Bath, Birmingham, Brighton, Newcastle, Sheffield, Bluewater and Lakeside.

 

PizzaExpress has opened at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Cannock. It is a 130-cover restaurant with an outdoor space.

 

Japanese restaurant brand Marugame Udon has completed the opening of a 4,500 square feet, two-floor site with 150 covers at the O2 centre in London—its second site in the UK.

 

Walthamstow-based vegan curry restaurant SpiceBox this week opened a second site in Leytonstone.

 

Brunning & Price says it will open its new pub in Ellesmere Port in December. The Rake Hall has been closed since early 2020, and its refurbishment was delayed by the pandemic.

 

Wagamama opens its latest new restaurant in West Bridgford in Nottingham next week. It has taken on a site that was previously occupied by Carluccio’s.

 

Pan-Asian brand Chopstix has just opened on Gallowtree Gate in Leicester. Another new launch is currently being readied in Swansea.

 

Japanese ramen restaurant brand Kanada-Ya will open its fourth site in early November, on Foubert’s Place in London’s Carnaby. An Ealing opening is also being readied.

 

Pizza restaurant Crust Bros will open a third site in Balham early in 2022. It will join branches in Waterloo and Wandsworth.

 

Italian restaurant brand Caffe Concerto has signed for an opening at Long Acre. Its 4,000 square feet, 180-cover unit is at the entrance to Covent Garden and The Yards development, and joins eight Caffe Concerto sites in London, one in Birmingham and three in the Middle East. The Long Acre deal was agreed with Longmartin Properties, a joint venture between Shaftesbury and the Mercers’ Company.

 

Chinese hot pot chain Haidilao has just opened its first site in the UK outside London, at Hammerson’s Bullring and Grand Central development. It is an 8,100 square feet restaurant with 259 covers, and joins sites in London’s Soho and the O2 centre.

 

Philippines-based fried chicken restaurant brand Jollibee has set 4 November for its latest new opening on Northumberland Street in Newcastle.
