Goods Way, a major new street food collective, bar and live music venue, opened this week in King’s Cross. The concept has been developed by the team behind Flat Iron Square in Southwark. Street food operators there include Breddos Tacos, Duck Truck, vegan fast food specialist Temple of Seitan, New York based Sushi on Jones, British tapas concept Pomelo. There is also a café style venture called the Courtyard, a bar called Sweetwater and a live music space called Lafayette.
Leon is opening a 3,600 square feet unit on Broad Street by the Oracle development in Reading as it continues a rollout in the regions. It plans to launch in the spring.
Regeneration specialist the Really Local Group and Southwark Council are to open a large new cultural and retail marketplace with street food elements in Bermondsey. It will have a food hall with local operators, bar, café and coffeeshop as well as a three-screen cinema and event and co-working spaces. Really Local Group founder Preston Benson said: “We are very excited to enhance the cultural infrastructure offer in a borough with an established craft and music heritage.”
Portishead Brewing Company has opened its first micropub called The Port, at the Precinct in Portishead.
The Bollington Brewing Co is opening a pub in Macclesfield—a second site in the town and a fourth in total.

The St Austell Brewery has opened the Harbour Light pub in Paignton in Devon. It follows a six-month refurbishment of the two-floor, Grade 2 listed pub.
The Le Cordon Bleu hospitality training group is opening a multi-use operation on Fleet Street in London in the next few weeks. It will include a 90-cover restaurant called Cord, a 50-cover café and an institute with various training courses.
The Mojo Bars brand has submitted plans to open a sixth site in Barker’s Pool in Sheffield. It would join Mojo bars in Harrogate, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham.
Hertfordshire-based fish and grill chain Lussmanns opened on Little Clarendon Street in Oxford this week. It has taken on a unit previously occupied by Carluccio’s. Lussmanns has five other restaurants, in Hertford, St Albans, Tring, Hitchin and Harpenden.
Coffeeshop brand Gentleman Baristas has opened its tenth site in Shortlands in Hammersmith. Another opening will follow in Mayfair in a few weeks.
Yorkshire-based Italian restaurant and wine bar group Capri has just opened a fourth site in Mirfield. It is a refurbishment of a pub in the town. Capri also has restaurants in Headingley, Horbury and Wakefield.
Mediterranean restaurant Boca Cha Cha is to reopen in Notting Hill shortly. It has previously been based in Little Venice.
Indian street food style operator Chaiiwala is opening on Bury Old Road in Manchester. The brand has 24 sites under franchise, with high concentrations in the Midlands and north west.
