Loungers opened the Tretho Lounge in St Ives this week. New sites in Wolverhampton, Stourbridge and Welwyn Garden City have taken the group to a total estate of 142 Lounges and 30 Cosy Clubs. Places lined up for openings over the next few months include Blackpool, Scarborough and Aberystwyth.
Oakman Inns has just opened The Woburn hotel, restaurant and bar near Woburn Abbey. It has 48 bedrooms and cottages for rent, and is Oakman’s biggest site yet.
Russia-based Piazza Italiana opened its first UK restaurant on Threadneedle Street in the City last week.
Pizza Pilgrims opened its latest new restaurant in Lower Marsh in Waterloo this week. It has 120 covers and an outdoor terrace.
Hard Rock Café will launch its new restaurant in Newcastle next week. It is part of the Guildhall on Newcastle’s Quayside, and has 18 0covers across two floors.
Fried chicken brand Butchies is opening on Kenway Road in Earls Court in early June. It will have 20 covers as well as delivery and takeaway offers. Butchies has restaurants in Shoreditch and Clapham, and has also operated at various markets and food halls around London.
7Bone Burger Co opens its tenth restaurant next week, in a unit previously occupied by PizzaExpress on Hay Lane in Coventry. 7Bone’s other restaurants are in Bournemouth, Camberley, Eastbourne, Hove, Newbury, Northampton, Portsmouth, Reading and Southampton.
LabTech has signed up vegan brand Clean Kitchen for an opening at Buck Street Market. It is the first full restaurant for the brand, joining six delivery sites across London and the south, and two outlets at the Boxpark developments in Shoreditch and Wembley. The Buck Street Market site will have 54 covers over two floors, and will launch in June.
Italy-based vegan burger group Flower Burger has just opened its first London restaurant, on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia. It has 65 covers over two floors and a terrace. Flower Burger is working with Gerry’s Group to start a rollout of up to 45 franchised locations over the next 10 years. Flower Burger currently has 14 sites in France and the Netherlands as well as Italy.
Rudy’s Vegan Diner has opened its second restaurant on Upper Street in Islington. The original Rudy’s is in Camden, and it also has a concession in Selfridges.
Manchester’s vegan fast food concept Vegan Shack is opening at One Piccadilly on Piccadilly Gardens. The independent’s original site is in Collyhurst in the north east of Manchester.
Greek street food operator Kalimera is opening a permanent restaurant on Tottenham Lane in Crouch End. It is due to open in late June. Kalimera has run at Camden Market and as part of various street food collectives, and also has sites in Paris and Lille.
Scotland-based burger group BRGR will open its biggest site yet at the Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow. BRGR currently has three sites in and around Glasgow, and two in Edinburgh.
Hawaiian-style brand Island Poké is opening its first ever kiosk at Camden Market next week. It will have five eat-in spaces as well as an on-the-go offer. Island Poké has 13 other eat-in and delivery sites around London.
Six by Nico is opening a second London restaurant, and a seventh in all, on Chancellor Passage at Canary Wharf in the summer. It will have a bar and outside terrace as well as main restaurant. Six by Nico also has a restaurant in Fitzrovia, as well as in Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester.
Five Guys has just opened at the Glasgow Fort development. It has taken on a unit that was previously run by YO! Sushi.
Coffeeshop and bar Mule and Mediterranean bar Atomeca will both open at the Deansgate Square development in Manchester. It is a second site for Mule, while Atomeca is a new concept.
Café and coffeeshop concept Real Eating Company has opened its eighth site in Petty Cury in Cambridge. The group has sites in Bournemouth, Canterbury and Horsham, and two in Chichester and London.
