Dishoom is to relaunch its original restaurant on St Martin’s Lane Covent Garden after a major refurbishment. It has taken on the unit next door that was previously occupied by Jamie’s Italian, doubling the size of the restaurant. The new-look site is themed around old Bombay theatres, and is due to open in late autumn.
Nando’s is opening a new restaurant at the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet in Bridgend in December.
The Leeds-based Roxy Leisure group has just opened a second site in Manchester and its 11th in all—a games-based bar and restaurant called Roxy Ball Room on Withy Grove. Roxy also has a venue on Deansgate, as well as four in Leeds, two in Liverpool and Nottingham and one in Birmingham.
London-based crazy golf, arcade and bar operator Plonk will launch at Peckham Levels on 23 October. Plonk also has venues in Camden Market and London Fields.
Canadian coffee brand Tim Hortons is opening in Milton Keynes shortly as it resumes a rollout in the UK. It currently has 23 sites but says it has ambitions to open in every major city and town in the country.
Japanese and Korean on-the-go chain Kokoro has submitted plans to open in Chichester, according to local reports. Kokoro currently has 30 sites in the UK, mostly in the south east of England.
Birmingham’s Vietnamese Street Kitchen is to open a third restaurant in the Bullring in the city. It will take over a unit in the centre that was previously occupied by the Handmade Burger Company until the chain went into administration. Vietnamese Street Kitchen’s other two Birmingham restaurants are at Brindleyplace and Resorts World.
The Galvin brothers’ restaurant group is reopening its Galvin HOP pub in Spitalfields as Galvin Bistrot and Bar.
Bristol steakhouse and bar Pasture opened a second restaurant in Cardiff this week.
The Fireaway Pizza fast casual and takeaway brand is opening in Basingstoke in the next few weeks. It currently has around 30 locations under franchise around the UK.
Taco Bell is opening a restaurant in Milton Keynes on 20 October. As well as 45 covers it will have a drive-through facility.
