Survive or thrive? What’s the industry’s plan for 2018?

Just how healthy is the state of the UK out-of-home food and drink market? With a string of site closures from casual dining chains and flat trading across the board, prospects don’t look good. But how are operators reacting?

Just how healthy is the state of the UK out-of-home food and drink market? With a string of site closures from casual dining chains and flat trading across the board, prospects don’t look good. But how are operators reacting? What are the sector bosses planning for the coming year?

All will be revealed on February 22 when CGA reveals the findings of its annual, start-of-the-year Business Leaders’ Survey, which analyses the views of senior executives right across the sector about their hopes and concerns, challenges and priorities – as the market enters one of its most uncertain, pressured and competitive years.

This year’s survey, produced in partnership with Barclaycard, will gauge not just business confidence, but attitudes to investment, business failures, new food and drink trends, marketing, technology, staff engagement – and of course the impact of Brexit. It will provide a comprehensive picture of where operators – both big corporates and ambitious entrepreneurs – are steering Britain’s pub, bar, restaurant and café market.

The survey results will be published first at a special breakfast briefing at the Business Design Centre, Islington, before the opening of the second day of the Casual Dining Show. If you would like to attend and discover what your colleagues, customers and competitors are thinking, please contact us here.

This is an invitation-only event, seating is limited to 100 attendees, and an advanced registration is required to enter the show.
