New Openings Roundup 2nd August

The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Eastern Mediterranean restaurant group Brother Marcus will soon launch its largest location to date on Slingsby Place at The Yards in Covent Garden. The 4,200 square feet, dual-level venue will have two terraces, two bars and an open kitchen. It becomes the fifth Brother Marcus restaurant after Angel, Borough Yards, South Kensington and Spitalfields.  

 

French burger brand Junk is opening its first UK restaurant on Old Compton Street in London’s Soho in September. Junk currently has 11 sites in France, including four in Paris.

 

Farm-to-fork restaurant group Farmer J has just opened in Hammersmith—its 11th location and its first in west London. 

 

All-day restaurant and café group Daisy Green opens next week on Exhibition Road in South Kensington. It will be called Glamarama Green. Daisy Green currently has 16 locations around London. 

 

The ETM group will open a rooftop bar and restaurant at the Page 8 hotel on St Martin’s Square in London. It will be called Kitty Hawk and is scheduled to launch in September.  

 

 

The Heartwood Collection is launching in Palmers Green, after acquiring The Woodman pub from Marston’s. It is scheduled to open towards the middle of next year.  

 

PizzaExpress is launching at the International Convention Centre at Brindleyplace in Birmingham later this year. It is taking on a unit previously occupied by Craft. 

 

Dessert brand Kaspa’s is launching its first site in central London shortly—on Dean Street in Soho.  

 

Indian street food-style restaurant brand Mowgli has just opened in Knutsford in Cheshire, after a refurbishment of an old bank building in the town. 

 

London-based Chinese restaurant Tofu Vegan is to launch a fourth location on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia. Its other three sites are in Islington, Golders Green and Spitalfields. 

 

Turkish steakhouse and burger restaurant group Etci Mehmet opened its fourth site this week, on Eastgate in Leeds. The brand’s three other restaurants are in Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester. 

 

Premium steakhouse brand The Cow & Sow is launching a third site, at the One Chamberlain Square development in Birmingham. The concept launched in Bristol, where it has two sites. 

 

Sydney-based café group Rusty Rabbit opens its first UK site on Westbourne Grove in London in mid-August. 

 

Hollywood Bowl is to launch late next year at the Boulevard designer outlet in County Down—its second site in Northern Ireland.  

 

The Rhubarb Hospitality Collection is to run bars and restaurants as part of redevelopment plans for Camden’s Town Hall by the Bottaccio events management group.
