The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

The Flat Iron steakhouse group will open its latest new restaurant in Leeds in November, local media report. It is on the corner of Albion Place and Lands Lane, in a unit previously occupied by Byron. Flat Iron currently has 12 restaurants in London and one in Cambridge. 

 

Turtle Bay has confirmed its first restaurant in Scotland—on St Vincent Street in Glasgow. It will have 220 covers when it opens towards the end of the year, and becomes Turtle Bay’s 52nd location in the UK. 

 

ASK Italian will open its latest new restaurant at Merry Hill in the West Midlands in November. It has taken a 3,350 square feet space in the development’s leisure quarter, between Wagamama and Bon Pan Asian Restaurant. 

 

The Loungers group has lined up seven more openings for the next few months: in Hexham, St Ives, Paignton, Cramlington, Penrith, Caerphilly and Ashby-de-la-Zouch. The Hexham venue opens next week, with the rest to follow before the end of the year with the exception of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, which launches in January. 

 

Rosa’s Thai has submitted plans for a new restaurant in Bristol, local media report. It will be in an old post office building on the corner of Marsh Street and Baldwin Street. 

 

Italian restaurant brand Piccolino will open its latest new restaurant in Wilmslow next week. It will have 220 covers and become Piccolino’s 19th location. 

 

Hydes is about to open its latest new pub in Heswall. It is called The Harry Beswick and is in the town’s old police station. 

 

The Real Greek brand from Fulham Shore has submitted plans for a restaurant in the Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield. It has taken on a unit in the Oasis dining quarter that was previously occupied by the Handmade Burger Co. 

 

The Loci Pubs group is opening a fourth pub in north London shortly—the William IV on Harrow Road in Kensal Rise. The group also has pubs in Hampstead, West Hampstead and St John’s Wood. 

 

Yotam Ottolenghi’s restaurant and deli group will open a sixth location in Hampstead in December. It joins other Ottolenghi sites in Chelsea, Islington, Marylebone, Notting Hill and Spitalfields. 

 

Sloane Stanley has lined up three independent brands for the Fulham neighbourhood. They are a sixth London location for Italian street food concept Dez Amore, a fifth for coffeeshop and café brand Kiss The Hippo, and Kings342, a new concept from the team behind Street Food Markets. The first two are on Fulham Road and the third on Kings Road. 

 

Casa Peri Peri, a Portuguese style concept in Wakefield, is setting up a second site at the Flemingate development in Beverley. The concept is run by the Dabangg group, whose other brands include Estabulo and Sakkusamba. 

 

Australia-based Mexican quick service restaurant brand Zambrero is joining the line-up at The Grand on Colmore Row in Birmingham. It is due to launch in mid-November. 

 

The Detroit Pizza restaurant in London’s Spitalfields is launching a sister site on Upper Street in Islington. 

 

A Ukrainian-born Spanish tapas called Boca a Boca is opening on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia in November. The 1,500 square feet restaurant will have 66 covers.
