Nando’s has confirmed an opening at the Queen Square development in Liverpool. It has taken on a 4,000 square feet unit above Five Guys. Spud Bros has also lined up a unit that was previously occupied by Costa.
Dishoom says it will open its latest new restaurant on Nelson Mandela Place in Glasgow on 29 August. It will be a second site in Scotland for Dishoom, after Edinburgh.
Wagamama and Wingstop are both launching new restaurants at the Liverpool Shopping Park. Five Guys has just opened a drive-through there, and other brands setting up later in the year include Nando’s.
Irish-themed pub group McCafferty’s has just opened in an old nightclub building on Friar Street in Reading. It is the brand’s seventh UK location, after Bicester, Crouch End, Epsom, Halifax, Harrow and Ilford. McCaffety’s also has five pubs in Ireland, four in the UAE and two in Spain.
Maray, the restaurant and bar concept from the QVO Hospitality group, is to launch a fourth branch at Chester Northgate before the end of the year. There are currently two Marays in Liverpool and one in Manchester.
Alley Cats Pizza is opening in Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill. It will be a third site for the brand, after Chelsea and Marylebone.
Indian restaurant group Namaste Village has just opened on New Road in Oxford, in a unit previously occupied by Prezzo. It is Namaste’s sixth location after Cambridge, Islington, Norwich, Southend and Twickenham. Another opening is planned soon in Birmingham.
Nell’s Pizza is opening a site at MediaCity in Salford in the autumn. It joins Nell’s other four branches in and around Manchester.
Mission Mars’ Neapolitan pizza brand Rudy’s opens a 3,000 square feet restaurant on Baldwin Street in Bristol on Monday—its 34th UK location and first in the south west.
Burger brand Five Akhis has reached ten sites with the opening of a new restaurant in Luton.
The We Do Play group has just opened its latest Activate competitive socialising venue at the Metrocentre in Gateshead. Activate also operates at the O2 Centre and has more openings lined up later this year in London’s Oxford Street, Leicester and Telford. Activate has another 60 locations globally.
US-style motel and diner concept Mollie’s is to open near Edinburgh Park in 2028. Mollie’s currently has two sites in Bristol and Oxfordshire.
Midlands-based Brgr Lab is opening in Leamington Spa shortly. It is a third site for the brand after Leicester and Coventry, with five more in the pipeline.
Slim Chickens has just opened in Ealing and Swansea. The brand now has more than 70 UK sites under a rapid rollout with Boparan Restaurant Group.
The Azzurri Group is launching Dave’s Hot Chicken at the Stevenage Leisure Park, local media report. It is taking on a unit previously occupied by Azzurri’s Ask Italian brand. Dave’s Hot Chicken currently operates in London and Birmingham, with more sites lined up.
Heavenly Desserts has just opened on the high street in Bedford. Its franchisees are now readying launches in Basildon and Wembley.
The Big Mamma group is to open its first restaurant in Ireland towards the end of the year. It will be a fourth international restaurant for the group’s Gloria brand, after London, Barcelona and Milan.
