The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Pizza Pilgrims is to open on Rose Street in Edinburgh late this year, local media report. It will be the brand’s first location in Scotland. 

 

BrewDog has announced plans for its first bar in Northern Ireland, at the new Belfast Grand Central station. The station will start a phased opening in September.

 

Detroit Slims, a new pizza restaurant concept from the team behind several Trof group venues, is opening on Circle Square on Manchester’s Oxford Road in September. Another site in the Manchester area is due to follow before the end of the year before a rollout further afield. 

 

Wagamama opened its latest new restaurant this week on Whitehall Street in Dundee. The brand now has 168 sites in the UK. 

 

Thai group Giggling Squid has just opened at the Gunwharf Quays development in Portsmouth. 

 

Pizza group Fatto a Mano is opening on Paradise Row in Bethnal Green in London in the autumn. It will be a sixth restaurant for the brand, which has two sites in Brighton and one in Hove, Covent Garden and King’s Cross. 

 

US fried chicken brand Wingstop has announced six new openings, in Crawley, Ealing, Lakeside, Manchester, Walthamstow and Whitechapel. It comes after Wingstop reached the milestone of 50 UK locations with a launch at the Middlebrook retail park near Bolton. 

 

New York-style pizza restaurant AlleyCatshas opened a second site on Sloane Stanley’s King’s Road in London. The 1,300 square feet unit joins the original Alley Cats in Marylebone. 

 

The JKS Restaurants group opened a new Indian restaurant called Ambassador’s Clubhouse on Heddon Street in central London this week. 

 

Covent Garden café Abuelo has opened a second site on Cavendish Place in Marylebone. 

 

Five Guys has just opened at the New Mersey Shopping Park in Speke near Liverpool. 

 

A new food and drink hall called White Cloth Hall opened on Crown Street in Leeds this week. It has been developed by the team behind the Five Points Brewing Company and Whitelock’s Ale House, and has four food brands as well as a bar and coffee shop. 

 

The Parched London pub group will launch its seventh site in mid-September—the Clock House Tavern in Peckham Rye. 

 

The Heartwood Collection is lining up two new openings after acquiring a couple of pubs from Whitbread: The George & Dragon in Marlow and The Red Lion in Stratford-upon-Avon.

 

Food hall operator Society is opening a second site in Birmingham early next year. The 9,000 square feet venue with 350 covers joins the original Society in Manchester. 

 

TheEL&N Deli & Bakery has just opened in Covent Garden’s Market Building. It is the EL&N café group’s first sub-brand. 

 

Burger brand Bleecker opened this week on Tooley Street at London Bridge this week—its fifth location in all and its first new site in five years. 

 

Goldies, a new wood-fired grill concept from the team behind Soho restaurant Blanchette, has launched at Shaftesbury Capital’s Kingly Court. The 1,100 square feet unit has 44 covers inside and 25 outside. 

 

The Bistrot Pierre group will launch a second site for its all-day format Pierre’s in Sutton Coldfield next week. It is a conversion of an existing Bistrot Pierre there. The Pierre’s concept was launched in Newport earlier this year.
