The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Sticks ‘n’ Sushi has announced an opening on George Square in Glasgow in November. The 177-capacity restaurant will be the brand’s first site in Scotland and 16th in the UK. Sticks ‘n’ Sushi has also recently acquired a site on Upper Street in Islington. 

 

US-style bar brand Coyote Ugly is to open on South Charlotte Street in Edinburgh. It will be its eighth UK location, after Birmingham, Blackpool, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, London and Swansea. 

 

Pub group Aldrich Inns has acquired the Freemasons Arms on Long Acre in Covent Garden, and will reopen it as The Bull and The Egret. It will be a third site for Aldrich Inns, after the Newman Arms in Fitzrovia and The Goat in Fulham. The deals have been brokered by Davis Coffer Lyons. 

 

Belgium-based restaurant Frites Atelier is opening its first UK restaurant on Old Compton Street in Soho shortly. It currently has three sites in Belgium and one in the Netherlands. 

 

Pizza Pilgrims has set 18 August for the opening of its latest new restaurant on Deansgate in Manchester—its first site in the city. 

 

Irish-themed pub brand Katie O’Brien’s is opening on Temple Street in Birmingham, local media report. It has taken on a unit previously operated by The Botanist. Katie O’Brien’s currently has seven locations, with more following soon in York, Barnsley and Lincoln. 

 

The Inamo restaurant group opens a new site for its Inamo Sukoshi brand in Hackney Bridge this week. It will be a fourth location for the concept, after Boxpark Wembley, Boxpark City and Vauxhall. 

 

Amsterdam-based sushi and izakaya brand Sushi Fanatics is launching into the UK with a site at Chapel Market in London’s Islington. The deal for the 1,000 square feet site was brokered by Davis Coffer Lyons.

 

Popeyes has signed a deal to open at the Arndale centre in Manchester. It has taken a 2,800 square feet unit in the food court there. Popeyes has also just opened at Midsummer Place in Milton Keynes. 

 

 

Fried chicken brand Miss Millie’s will soon open on the High Street in Canterbury. Miss Millie’s currently has 12 locations. 

 

Leeds-based kebab concept Sqew will soon launch a second site soon on Deansgate in Manchester. 

 

Glasgow-based all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant Marble Buffet has lined up a second opening at the Centre in Livingston. The 15,800 square feet site is due to open next Spring. 

 

Hollywood Bowl has confirmed an opening at the St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff. The 45,000 square feet site will be the brand’s biggest so far, and is due to launch in Spring 2026. 

 

The Big Mamma restaurant group has signed for a first location in Ireland. It is converting an old bank building into an Italian-style restaurant called Gloria Dublin, which it plans to open before the end of the year. 

 

Taste of Peshawar, a Pakistani restaurant concept with sites in Wembley and Cardiff, has just opened a third location in Blackburn. 

 

Jincheng Alley, a Chinese Sichuan restaurant on New Oxford Street, has secured permission to open a second site in Woolwich.
