JD Wetherspoon has secured permission to open a new pub in Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, local media report. It will be called The Chiltern and is in a unit previously occupied by Prezzo.
Steakhouse group Flat Iron has submitted plans to open on Clare Street in Bristol. It currently has 18 sites.

Brakspear is opening in Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds after acquiring the Redesdale Arms there. It becomes the 11th site in Brakspear’s Honeycomb Houses managed division.
Mitchells & Butlers has opened a branch of the Pesto Italian format in Wythall in the West Midlands. It is a conversion of one of its Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery pubs. M&B acquired the Pesto business last year. It now has 11 locations.
Giraffe has just opened at Terminal 3 in Heathrow Airport. It is a joint venture between TRG Concessions and the Boparan Restaurant Group.

The Big Mamma Group has confirmed plans for its latest new restaurant called Barbarella on South Colonnade in Canary Wharf. Themed on old Roman cinemas, it is due to open in June.
Bar Kroketa, the Spanish tapas brand run by the Brindisa group, has acquired a third London site at Broadgate Circle in the City. It is due to open in May. The other two Bar Kroketas are in Soho and St Christopher’s Place.

Nigerian restaurant brand Enish opened this week in Glasgow—its first location in Scotland. Enish has ten restaurants in London and one in Manchester.

Burger King opened on the Strand in London this week—its first new restaurant in the city for more than ten years. It has taken on a 4,500 square feet site that was previously a retail unit.
Mission Mars’ Rudy’s pizzeria brand is about to open in West Bridgford in Nottinghamshire, local media report. It is the 32nd location for Rudy’s. 
Wingstop is preparing an opening in an old bank building on Old Town Street in Plymouth, local media report. It has just opened at the Liverpool ONE development and now has 62 UK sites.
Afrikana opens its biggest ever restaurant at the London Designer Outlet in Wembley this weekend. It is the 20th Afrikana location.
Shaftesbury Capital has announced that Song He Lou, a 250 year-old China-based noodle restaurant concept, has opened its first overseas location on Wardour Street in London’s Chinatown. It has taken on a 3,600 square feet unit with 144 covers across three floors.
