Brightside, the roadside diner concept launched by the Loungers group, will shortly open at the Ram Jam service station off the A1 in Stretton in Rutland, local media report. It will be a fourth site for the Brightside brand, and the first outside the south west.
Thai restaurant group Giggling Squid has received permission to open on Castle Street in Liverpool. New openings are also coming soon in Cobham, Exeter, Godalming and Leeds.
London’s Pretty Decent Beer Co is opening a third taproom in early December, near Victoria Park at Bow Wharf in Bethnal Green. The other two taprooms are in Walthamstow and Forest Gate.
The BAO group is opening a BAO Night Market concept at Market Halls Victoria on 26 November. The brand currently has seven restaurants in London, having just opened a flagship site at Bloomberg Arcade in the City.
Chicken wing brand Wingers opened in Congleton this week—its 13th UK restaurant. Another opening is coming soon in Stafford.
London wine bar group Davy’s this week launched a bowling facility called Vintners Lanes, next to its Davy’s Wine Vaults venue on Waller Way in Greenwich.
The Metrocentre in Gateshead has announced the opening of two fast casual restaurant brands: YoYo Noodle and German Doner Kebab. Another operator, Tomahawk Steakhouse, will open at the Yellow Mall in the centre before the end of the year. Brands including ASK Italian, Nando’s and Wagamama have meanwhile refurbished their restaurants there recently.
The Caffe Concerto brand is about to open at the Victoria Gate mall in Leeds. The 200 square feet venue will be Caffe Concerto’s second outside London, following a Birmingham launch. It has 20 London locations, plus more in the Middle East and France.
US-based craft beer and burger concept Black Tap, which is about to open its first UK site at Westfield Stratford City, has confirmed a second London site at Landsec’s Piccadilly Lights. It is due to launch in the Spring.
The Ivy Collection opened its latest Brasserie in Bournemouth this week. It is the Ivy group’s 42nd UK site.
The Boxpark group has confirmed plans for a new Boxhall venture at Liverpool Street in London in the Spring. The 17,000 square feet food arcade have 13 food and drink operations. Boxpark also plans to launch a Boxhall in Bristol.
The Roxy Leisure group has confirmed the first London location for its Roxy Ball Room competitive socialising concept—at St Mary Axe in the City. It is scheduled to launch in the Spring. The Ball Room brand currently has 11 sites.
Canada-based fried chicken brand Mary Brown’s Chicken has just opened its first British restaurant, on Smithy Lane in Hounslow. It already has two sites in Northern Ireland, in Belfast and Lisburn.
Black Country Ales is opening in Bayston Hill in Shropshire after acquiring the Three Fishes pub. The group now has more than 50 pubs.
US brand Popeyes is opening in East Kilbride, local media report. It is taking over a unit at Lee Burn Court that was previously occupied by Frankie & Benny’s. Next week Popeyes launches a second restaurant in Liverpool, at the New Mersey Retail Park.
Haystack, a café concept with sites in Swansea and Merthyr Tydfil, has announced plans for a third site on Cowbridge Road in Cardiff, to open in March.
Fantômas, a new neighbourhood bistro from Goodman Restaurants founders George Bukhov-Weinstein and Ilya Demichev, has just opened at 300 King’s Road in Chelsea, the Sloane Stanley Estate has announced.
Taco Bell is about to open at Edith Cook Way in Ipswich, local media report—a second site in the city.
