Marston’s is about to launch a new family-friendly pub concept called Woodie’s. Its first location will be in Warrington, through a conversion of the Skymaster pub there. It is due to open on 22 July.

Glasgow-based fried chicken concept Lucky B’s is opening under franchise soon on Whitegate Drive in Blackpool. It will be a first location in England for the brand, with another following in Burnley.
Indian street food style brand Mowgli has set 8 August for the opening of its latest new restaurant at Chantry Place in Norwich. It will be Mowgli’s 27th location.
The team behind The Waterman’s Arms pub by the Thames in south west London has taken on the management of The Shaston Arms off Carnaby Street in Soho.
Family entertainment destination Funstation has signed for a 23,700 square feet opening at the Merry Hill development in the West Midlands. It will be Funstation’s 15th and biggest site to date.

Midlands-based pub group The Cat & Wickets has acquired a third site in Burton-on-Trent. It will reopen as The Long Hop. The group’s other two pubs are in Upper Broughton in Nottinghamshire and Swithland in Leicestershire.
The Heartwood Collection has acquired the Potters Heron pub and hotel in Romsey in Hampshire. It will open after a major refurbishment in early 2026. The Heartwood group currently has six pubs with rooms, having just opened one in Godalming.
Chickn’d, a new fried chicken concept from the team behind burger group Phat Buns, has just opened in Bede Island in Leicester. Phat Buns currently has 17 sites around the UK.
Pizza franchise brand Caprinos has just opened in Kettering. It is the brand’s 110th location.
