The latest news on venues opening across the U.K.

The New World Trading Company will launch a new restaurant and bar called The Furnace in Sheffield’s Heart of the City development in June. New World Trading Company is also preparing to open its latest new site, The Club House at Royal William Yard in Plymouth, shortly after the resumption of inside service.

 

The Ivy Collection will open a new restaurant at Cathedral Green in Exeter in the summer as it resumes its expansion plans. It will have 128 covers, a bar, private dining room and outdoor terrace.

 

The Big Mamma Group is opening a major new Italian restaurant in Covent Garden called Ave Mario. It will have 300 covers in a restaurant off Henrietta Street, including on two terraces, and a menu inspired by Florence’s trattoria restaurants. Opening is scheduled for late June. Big Mamma also runs Gloria and Circolo Popolare in London, as well as restaurants in Paris, Lille, Lyon and Madrid.

 

Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza will shortly open its first London restaurant on Wardour Street in Soho. It will take the place of Wahaca on the road. Rudy’s has two restaurants in Manchester and sites in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Sale.

 

Seven Bro7hers Brewery is launching its delayed new bar at MediaCityUK in Salford on 17 May. Seven Bro7hers already has beer houses in Ancoats and Middlewood Locks in Manchester, and at its brewery in Salford.

 

Five Guys has confirmed an opening for St Albans later this year, according to local media.

 

The Big Smoke Brew Co is opening a new craft beer bar and all-day restaurant at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2. It will open in late May in a unit previously occupied by La Salle. Big Smoke Brew Co is based in Esher in Surrey, and runs a taproom at its headquarters.

 

New York all-day restaurant Sunday is opening a sister restaurant in London in the summer. It has taken over a two-storey site on Westbourne Grove that was previously occupied by Cote.

 

Jason Atherton’s restaurant group is launching a new restaurant at Harrods in London. Harrods Social will take the place of the Harrods Brasserie and will open its doors on 17 May.

 

A new restaurant and street food development is to open at New Era Square at St Mary’s Gate in Sheffield over the next few weeks. The line-up will include a third site for local Asian restaurant group OISOI, Taiwanese street food concept Yum Yum Bites, a Japanese restaurant called Doki Kagoshima and Scandinavian-style café Lykke.

 

South Manny Flavaz, a popular Manchester fried chicken street food operator, is opening its first permanent site at the Great Northern Warehouse on Deansgate.

 

Peruvian restaurant Andina, part of the Ceviche group, is opening on Commercial Street in London’s Spitalfields in the summer. The 3,000 square feet, 80-cover site is close to Andina’s original location on Redchurch Street, and will have a new bar in the basement.

 

The San Carlo restaurant group is soon to launch a new 6,000 square feet site at St Christopher’s Place in London in the spring. The 200-cover restaurant will have two outdoor terraces.
