Hippo Inns, the managed pub group led by Geronimo Inns founder Rupert Clevely and backed by the Ei Group, will open its 12th pub in November: the White Haus on Farringdon Street. The 3,800 square feet pub is on the site of the former White Swan pub, and will be an all-day operation, themed on alpine food, drink and entertainment and with features including private dining ‘chalets’ and a bookable cable car ‘booth’. It will have 160 covers over three floors. Hippo is partnering with the Ski Club of Great Britain on décor and activities at the pub. Clevely said: “The White Haus combines a passion for pubs and the thrill of the mountains. We’ve been incredibly lucky to have the support of the Ski Club of Great Britain—their range of memorabilia gives the pub a unique ambience, transporting drinkers and diners to the slopes without leaving the capital.”

The Ei Group has announced another new managed pub partnership with Helen Standing, who has worked on Ei’s Craft Union business. It will be called Vixen Pubs, and the first two new openings will be the New Inn Hotel in Clapham and the Wheatsheaf in Corbridge. Further sites in the north of England are being explored. It is Ei’s 11th Managed Investments partner.
