The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Vegan burger concept Neat Burger opened its fifth restaurant on Buckingham Palace Road in Victoria this week. It joins sites in Camden, Finsbury Park, Oxford Circus and Soho. More openings are lined up for Bishopsgate, Canary Wharf, Ealing, Kings Road and Westfield Stratford.

 

Arc Inspirations opens the latest new branch of its Manahatta bar and restaurant this weekend, on Temple Street in Birmingham.

 

The Little Door & Co bar and restaurant group has secured a new site on Greek Street in Soho. The concept, modelled on a house party, will move into a 2,200 square feet site in Soho, spread over two floors. The Little Door & Co currently runs the Little Yellow Door in Notting Hill, the Little Orange Door in Clapham and the Little Blue Door in Fulham. The deal for the new Soho site was brokered by Shelley Sandzer.

 

Franco Manca has submitted plans to open a second restaurant in Manchester, on King Street. It would join another site in the city on Piccadilly Gardens.

 

The Gusto Italian restaurant group will open a new restaurant and bar on King Street in Nottingham before the end of the year, local media report. It will be an update on the Gusto concept, with elements including an open kitchen and cocktail and coffee bar. It is Gusto’s first new site for four years.

 

Caribbean restaurant brand Turtle Bay has confirmed new openings in Coventry, Durham, Blackburn and Croydon before Christmas. It announced the plans while presenting its financial results, and says it is exploring more new openings, having paused expansion plans during the pandemic.

 

The Experimental Group is opening a new late-night venue in Covent Garden, having taken on the old Roadhouse nightclub there. It will launch later next year. The Experimental Group has restaurants, hotels and bars in Soho and Covent Garden, as well as operations in France, Spain, Italy and New York.

 

Fried chicken brand Butchies has joined the line-up at the Borough Yards development in London. It currently has seven sites in London, with another coming in Ealing. Recent additions to Borough Yards include branches of Barrafina and Parrillan from the Harts Brothers’ group.

 

The Archie’s group of US-style burger restaurants will open a second site in Birmingham before the end of the year. It will be on Lower Temple Street, and joins a site in Birmingham’s Bullring, as well as five locations in Manchester, one in Liverpool and one in Leeds.

 

Champagne bar group Searcys has just opened a new underground bar on Pall Mall in London. It is part of a development of a Grade I listed building occupied by the Institute of Directors.

 

Japanese teppanyaki restaurant group Benihana is opening on Maiden Lane in Covent Garden, having closed its site on Sackville Street in Piccadilly. The Covent Garden restaurant will open in the spring. Benihana also has a restaurant in Chelsea, as well as locations across Asia, the Middle East and the US.

 

Street food and pop-up Tex Mex operator Tigre Tacos has just opened a first permanent restaurant on Stoke Newington High Street. It has taken on the space over the Dona bar there.

 

The Parogon group has just opened its latest restaurant and pub, in Broughton near Crewe. It joins eight other Parogon locations in and around Staffordshire.

 

The Pi Pizza group is opening a third restaurant, in Poole in Dorset, before the end of the year. It will join Pi Pizza’s other two sites in Battersea Rise and Winchester.
