Loungers’ Cosy Club bar and restaurant opened in Nottingham on Wednesday (29 January). It is a three-floor operation on Victoria Street and is one of Cosy Club’s biggest openings so far.
Mitch Tonks’ Rockfish brand is set to secure approval for plans to open on the seafront at Sidmouth, local media report. It plans to restore a historic building on the Esplanade in the town that has been empty for several years. Rockfish has eight other restaurants in Brixham, Dartmouth, Exeter, Exmouth, Plymouth, Poole, Torquay and Weymouth.
The D&D London group has lined up a restaurant opening at the top of a new 24-floor office tower on Colmore Row in Birmingham. It will also operate a café and cocktail bar on the ground floor of the building. D&D London meanwhile says it will open Quakers Friars at Cabot Circus in Bristol in late spring. It is at work on a unit previously occupied by Brasserie Blanc, where it will run a restaurant, bars, private dining area and terrace.
Wagamama founder Alan Yau has just opened Mozzasando, a Milan-style katsu sando bar, on Draycott Avenue in Chelsea. It is specializing in high quality mozzarella and sandos, and is a partnership with Obica, which used to operate on Draycott Avenue.
Five Guys plans to open on Jubilee Street in Brighton, in a unit previously occupied by Carluccio’s, local media report. It would be a second restaurant in the town for the brand.
