New business confidence survey launched this weekend

As the country enters another week of lockdown, what is the mood among the leaders of Britain’s pub, restaurant, bar and café companies? How widespread are concerns about furloughed staff, Government payments, loans and rent? And what else is on the minds of operators? Is it too early to start planning for a post-lockdown return to business? How many are already mapping out options? These are some of the vital questions that will be asked in the latest CGA Business Confidence survey, run in conjunction with technology specialists Fourth that will land in leaders' inboxes this weekend.

These are some of the vital questions that will be asked in the latest CGA Business Confidence survey, run in conjunction with technology specialists Fourth. The timing of the important research has been brought forward to reflect the changing COVID-19 environment and will land in leaders’ in-boxes over this coming weekend.

“This is almost certainly the most important survey of industry sentiment that we have ever undertaken, so we hope leaders across the country, from big corporates to small start-ups, will find the time to fill out the questionnaire,” said CGA’s vice president Peter Martin.

“It will provide invaluable insight, not just for the market for when it eventually starts to rebuild, but most importantly for Kate Nicholls and her UKHospitality team in its lobbying for sector support. We are working closely with UKH to provide reliable, up-to-the-minute data, and the team has been involved in framing the questionnaire. So again, please take part.”

Initial results should be available by the end of the month, and all those taking part will receive a copy of the key findings. More details to come.
