Make it a Good Day for the Tim Bacon Foundation

Salford Brewery SEVEN BRO7HERS has raised nearly £10,000 for the Tim Bacon Foundation through sales of its Good Day IPA, launched in November last year specifically to support the charity.

Now other pub, bar and restaurant operators are being encouraged to stock the beer to help the cancer charities that the Foundation funds.

The brewery has donated 60p for every can sold through its web shop and on tap in its beer houses. As well as direct from the brewery, Good Day IPA is available through LWC and Mathew Clark wholesalers, who have been distributing at cost with a portion of sales donated to the cause.

Aussie-born Tim Bacon died in 2017 and The Tim Bacon Foundation was established to recognise his many achievements, including leading the award-winning Living Ventures restaurant and bar business, and to raise money for cancer charities. New World Trading Co and The Alchemist, two of the businesses he helped create, stock Good Day IPA.

The work of the Foundation will be highlighted at this year’s BIG Peach Digital Experience on November 18, which will include the annual Peach Hero & Icon Awards.

Tim was one of our Industry Icon award winners, so this year we hope all those taking part in the 2020 online ceremony will have a Good Day IPA in hand to toast both Tim and this year’s winners,” said Peach founder and Foundation trustee Peter Martin.

Jeremy Roberts, Tim’s former business partner and now chair of The Tim Bacon Foundation, said: “The partnership with SEVEN BRO7HERS has been fantastic and we are very grateful for their help and generosity, and that of the distributors and the bars and restaurants stocking it. We now look forward to seeing Good Day IPA in lots more bars and restaurants in the future. It’s a perfect way to support the work of so many incredible cancer charities.”

Keith McAvoy CEO of SEVEN BRO7HERS, said: “The Tim Bacon Foundation celebrates Tim’s legacy within the hospitality sector and his legendary generosity lives on its work. We are proud to be part of a special community working together to keep his memory alive.

“Tim loved beer and we think he’d have loved a pint of Good Day IPA. With the support of our punters, this beer partnership has continued to raise money throughout the pandemic. It is great to support a charity close to our hearts at time where so many are facing great hardship.”

Good Day IPA is 4.7 ABV, available in a 350ml can and is currently sold for £2.00 on the SEVEN BRO7HERS web shop.

Combining traditional English and modern American IPA styles, the Good Day IPA is a refreshing beer. To intensify the flavours the brewers have double dry hopped using aromatic Simcoe hops, producing a subtle mango aroma and fresh citrus flavours.
