Reopenings round-up

Pizza Hut, Six by Nico, Rosa's Thai, Hickory's and Bill's round out this week's list of reopenings.

Dishoom is beginning a soft launch for brand new Birmingham site on Saturday July 18 which will run until the official opening on August 6, offering customers 50% off food for the entire soft launch period.

Six by Nico has opened sites all sites outside of London this week, with Manchester and Liverpool the first to begin welcoming diners from Monday 13, Belfast following on Wednesday 15 and Glasgow and Edinburgh open from Friday 17. The London site will be the last of the estate to open, with booking currently being taken for the Chippie 2.0 menu from Monday July 20.

MediaCityUK has announced an installation of outdoor self-contained dining pods placed outside local bars and restaurants to encourage customers back to the area whilst ensuring social distancing guidelines are met. Box on the Docks will be opening towards the end of July.

BrewDog has teamed up with Biff’s plant-based eatery utilising kitchens at the former’s sites across the England and Scotland as delivery hubs to launch a new Biff’s Delivery service. Biff’s food is currently available from BrewDog and Draft House sites across London as well as Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, with more sites to be added in the coming weeks.

Rosa’s Thai has reopened for dine in customers at 12 sites this week, including 11 locations across London as well as Manchester. There will be a reduced menu to facilitate social distancing in the kitchens with all staff wearing face masks while working.

Cornwall based brewer St Austell have opened first pub in Dorset. The Rock Point Inn in Lyme Regis is a grade II listed building with outside decking area and 9 guest bedrooms.

Liverpool based fledgling pub company Small Hands has opened second site in Liverpool, after initial plans to open in March were delayed due to lockdown. The Denbigh Castle will have a focus on German beers and a vegan wine menu.

Costa Coffee has started allowing dine-in customers in a trial at 44 of its sites with hopes of extending to a further 1000 sites by the end of the month.

Pizza Hut is to reopen 100 branches for dine-in customers and is introducing a new app-based menu to limit contact between staff and guests.

Bill’s is reopening around 30 sites across the UK from Friday July 17, with temperature checks on arrival for guests and tables spaced further apart to facilitate social distancing.

EL&N, the London based café brand has opened a brand new site in King’s Cross, bringing the total number of sites in the capital to 8, all of which are now reopen.

DSC Group has opened the third of its Tapas Room concepts in London this week, this time in Brixton. The group has also announced plans to open a fourth site in Battersea.

Director and Co-Founder of Junkyard Golf has launched a late-night bar and restaurant in Manchester. The new concept, Southside will specialise in tequila and tacos.

TRG has announced a phased reopening of its 400 strong estate over the next few months, following the recent corporate restructuring. It is planning to have 25% of sites fully operational by the end of July, with 60% open by the end of August.

London based pubco Young’s is to reopen 6 of its managed sites in the capital on Friday July 17, with other sites following gradually to allow the company to test its new “on tap” app.

Sri Lankan restaurant brand The Coconut Tree is to reopen the first of its 6 sites on Wednesday July 22, starting with its site in Cardiff which will remain outdoors only until guidelines are lifted for indoor dining on August 3. The remaining 5 sites across the south of England will reopen gradually throughout July.

Super 8 has begun its phased reopening with the Smoking Goat in Shoreditch, with other sites in the capital opening later in the month.

Fletchergate Industries has launched its seventh venue in Nottingham. Magic Garden bar has taken over a former Jamie’s Italian site and will offer cocktails and pizza with all orders taken via n app.

Vittoria Group has reopened 3 sites in Scotland this week on Wednesday July 15, including Taste Of Italy, La Favorita and Vittoria On The Walk, with further sites to reopen from next Wednesday July 22.

Following the success of their delivery model throughout lockdown, Japanese restaurant Taka will be welcoming dine in guests again from Friday July 17.

Following successful reopening of 75 Loungers and 19 Cosy Club sites, Loungers has announced it will be ramping up reopening the remaining sites. Despite announcing plans to not reopen 2 sites, all remaining sites should be fully operational by August 5.

Hickory’s has this week reopened 7 sites for dine-in customers with 4 more planned for the remainder of July.

Stonegate Pub Company is planning to launch its new venture The Hideout in Derby on Friday July 17 hoping to combine “retro and new technology with childhood nostalgia”.
