Reopenings round-up

Bill's restaurant group, BrewDog, Carluccio's and Harwood Arms round out this week's list of reopenings..

Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines has opened the Harbourside Refuge restaurant and bar in the Porthleven site he acquired.

Rick Stein have reopened his restaurant in Marlborough, Wiltshire. The venue was previously earmarked for closure due to covid-related cuts, but the division was reversed after a rent reduction from the landlord.

Cornwall-based pub operator Ben Tunnicliffe has reopened The Packet Inn with his head chef Matt Smith. The menu will be in a “small plates” format, encouraging diners to order and share a variety of dishes rather than the traditional three courses.

Soho restaurateurs reopened their 10 Greek Street restaurant in London’s Soho. The menu will be available for takeaway and very shortly delivery.

Parisian restaurant concept Frenchie have reopened its doors. A revamped terrace plus new menus await customers on Henrietta Street, Covent Garden.

BrewDog has lined up a further 11 bar openings across UK including a franchise site with Tokyo Industries-owned smokehouse brand Red’s True Barbecue. The openings will be a mixture of company-owned and franchise sites.

Bill’s restaurant group will reopen a further four of its sites in September. The sites in High Wycombe and Muswell Hill have reopened and those in Camberley and Hammersmith will reopen on Friday September 18.

Boparan Restaurant Group will continue the gradual reopening of its Carluccio’s estate with another trio of sites. The business has reopened its Solihull outlet for delivery and click and collect and will reopen the dine-in on Wednesday September 16. Meanwhile, its Chichester and Reading restaurants will reopen on Thursday September 10.

Soho-based fish and chips concept Golden Union has reopened after shutting due to the lack of footfall.

London-based waffle cone concept Bubblewrap has opened its second site, in Covent Garden. The company has opened the outlet within the Market Building, adding to its debut venue, in Chinatown.

Better burger brand Byron, which earlier this month was sold via pre-pack administration, will reopen the majority of its estate over the next week. To mark its reopening plans, the company has brought back one of its favourite specials – the B-Rex and is donating £1 from every sold to NHS Charities Together.

Fierce Beer, the Aberdeen-based brewer and bar operator has opened a first site in England with the debut site in Manchester.

Michelin-starred Harwood Arms among London operators has reopened the capital’s only Michelin-starred gastro-pub. The restaurant will be open for dinner on Tuesdays to Fridays, and for lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.

The Italian restaurant located in Soho Bocca di Lupo has reopened its site with Sicilian dishes as menu highlights.

Wine bar Clarette has reopened in Blandford Street, central London with a seasonal menu under the guidance of new chef Pierre Mirepoix.

Rhubarb have reopened its Fenchurch restaurant in London’s Sky Garden. The company has also appointed Michael Carr as the restaurant’s new head chef.

Chef Theo Randall have reopened his restaurant at the InterContinental Park Lane hotel for dinner only. Menus will showcase Randall’s favourite regions of Italy for two consecutive weeks alongside a refined à la carte menu.

Bancone, the all-day fresh pasta concept led by Will Ellner and backed by David Ramsey, will reopen its flagship site in Covent Garden on Tuesday September 8.

All-day cafe bar Tayer and Elementary reopened with new drinks and a food residency from Kitchen FM. The front bar Elementary will serve drinks such as “One Sip Martinis” while the back bar Tayer is expected to reopen in October.

D&D London have reopened some of their sites and continuing to reopen the rest throughout next week. The business announced that they are continuing to have set menus with up to £10 off per person.
