CGA is delighted to have raised more than £1,500 for Shelter Manchester through company-wide charitable activities and donations.

The CGA team generated the money over the course of 2018 via bake sales, pub quizzes, raffles and more. The final sum for the year stood at £1,515, and CGA staff are already working on ways to top the total in 2019.

Shelter works to prevent homelessness in Britain and campaign for renters’ rights and more affordable social housing. According to Shelter, at least 4,750 people sleep rough on any given night, and more than 90,000 households live in temporary accommodation across England and Scotland. In Greater Manchester alone, the number of rough sleepers has risen by around 40% since 2010. The region has recently seen some of the highest figures in the country, with Tameside and Salford also recording sharp rises.

CGA chief executive Phil Tate said: “Homelessness in Manchester is a serious issue that has worsened rapidly. CGA is lucky to have a generous and kind-hearted team, and we are thrilled to have raised this total to support the excellent and much-needed work of Shelter Manchester.”
