New Openings Roundup 15th August

The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Loungers has reached the milestone of 300 venues with the launch of the Antico Lounge in Alton in Hampshire. It is the group’s 21st opening of 2025. Loungers has meanwhile applied for permission to open a Lounge in Cleveleys near Blackpool, local media report. 

 

Burger brand Smoke & Pepper has just opened at the Midsummer Place development in Milton Keynes. It is the group’s seventh location, with several more in the pipeline in London.

 

Dave’s Hot Chicken has just opened an 8,200 square feet restaurant at the Printworks development in Manchester—its third UK location after London and Birmingham as it begins a rollout under the Azzurri group. The next opening will be at Stevenage Leisure Park. 

 

Popeyes opens on The Moor in Sheffield this weekend—its 95th restaurant in the UK. It has also launched in recent days at the One Stop Shopping Centre at Perry Barr in Birmingham, and at the Reading Gateway Retail Park. 

 

Coffeeshop and wine bar group Notes has just opened in Reading—its first location outside London and 13th in total. 

 

Wendy’s is about to launch at the Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull. 

 

Burger Drop is to open in a to-be-confirmed location in Middlesbrough, local media report. It will be a fifth location for the brand, after Newcastle, Whitley Bay, Sunderland, Manchester and Edinburgh. 

 

Midlands-based burger group Flame & Ice has just launched in Coventry—its eighth location. More sites are coming soon in Bromsgrove, Leicester and Manchester. 

 

Pasta Evangelists will open three new London restaurants shortly, in Fulham, Queensway and New Oxford Street. The brand will then have 11 sites, and has set out plans to launch up to 100 new restaurants under franchise in the next five years. 

 

Behind Closed Doors, a cocktail bar with sites in Manchester and Leeds, is opening a third location on Colquitt Street in Liverpool soon.

 

Tasty African Food has just opened on the high street in Romford, local media report. It is the group’s 27th site. 

 

Healthy eating group Tossed has just launched a new concept called Wholesome Greens at BoxHall in London’s Liverpool Street. Tossed now has 13 sites in total. 

 

Plan Burrito opened under franchise in Nuneaton this week. It is a 15th location for the brand. The next launch will be in Lincoln. 

 

The team behind the Brother Marcus group will soon launch a cocktail bar called Kapara on Poland Street in Soho. 

 

Boss Pizza has just launched Gallowgate in Glasgow—a third site in Scotland and sixth in total. 

 

Napoli on the Road, a pizza brand with restaurants in Chiswick and Richmond, is opening a third sit on Wardour Street in Soho.

 

Chinese quick service restaurant brand Chopstix has just opened on King Street in Huddersfield. 

 

London-based healthy on-the-go brand Atis is about to open on the Southbank. It will launch two more sites in September, in Kings Cross and Mayfair. 

 

Oodles Wok has opened in Hamilton—its third site in Scotland after Glasgow and Aberdeen.
