The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

Indian restaurant group Dishoom is opening a new branch of its Permit Room all-day bar-café brand in Notting Hill in the Spring—its first location in London. It has taken over a unit that was previously occupied by the Portobello Road Distillery. Dishoom’s three other Permit Rooms are in Brighton, Cambridge and Oxford. 

 

Pizza brand Rudy’s, part of the Mission Mars hospitality group, plans to open in an old bank building on Baldwin Street in central Bristol, local media report. It will be a first site in the south west for Rudy’s, which currently has 29 restaurants around the UK.

 

Wingstop has set out plans to open around 20 new restaurants in the UK this year. Cities and towns that have been lined up include Newcastle, Leeds, London and Swansea. Wingstop currently has 57 sites in the UK. 

 

The Big Mamma Group has submitted plans to open a restaurant on Lombard Street in the City of London. The Italian group currently has five sites in London and six in total in the UK, with another opening lined up in Manchester. 

 

The SSP group has opened a new concept called Monty’s Diner at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. It is a 190-cover US-style all-day diner and is located in the departures area. 

 

Black Rooster, the Scotland-based peri chicken restaurant group, has lined up its first opening in London. The location is yet to be confirmed. Black Rooster currently has 18 restaurants in Scotland. 

 

Cornwall-based Native Burger is opening a second restaurant in Bodmin. The original Native Burger is in Launceston.   

 

Pan-Asian brand Kokoro is opening at the Cross Keys shopping centre in Salisbury in Wiltshire shortly.

 

Newport-based Thai street food concept Kinn is opening at Gloucester Dock, local media report.  

 

Bootlegger Bars has announced plans for a seventh venue, in Bath. It is due to open in March. Bootlegger’s six other bars are in Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Leeds and Richmond. 

 

Italian pasta restaurant brand Bancone is opening a fourth location in London in the Spring, at the Wrights Arcade in Kensington. The other three Bancones are in Covent Garden, Soho and Borough Yards. 

 

Supermarket group Lidl has received the go-ahead to launch its first bar within its store in Dundonald, near Belfast. The plans had been taken to the High Court but can now progress. 

 

Brands including Pret, Burger King, Chopstix, The Good Breakfast and KFC have all opened at the new Welcome Break service station off the M1 near Rotherham. 

 

The St Austell Brewery is opening in Marazion in Cornwall after acquiring the lease of the Godolphin pub. 

 

The Black Country Ales group is opening in Ludlow after acquiring the Unicorn Pub in the town. Black Country Ales will also open a pub in the nearby Shropshire town of Shifnal in March. 

 

Fast food chain German Doner Kebab is opening at Victoria station—its 144th site and 55th in London.
