New Openings Roundup 18th October

The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

The Big Table Group’s Bella Italia brand opened at the Aspects leisure park in Bristol this week—a fourth site in the city.

 

Miller & Carterhas just opened its latest new restaurant in Nunthorpe in Middlesbrough. 

 

London’sBlack Bear Burgerbrand will shortly open on Camden High Street. It currently has five sites—two standalone restaurants in Brixton and Exmouth Market, and operations within food halls in Victoria, Canary Wharf and Shoreditch. 

 

Porta, a tapas bar group with sites in Altrincham, Chester and Salford, is preparing to open a fourth site in West Didsbury, local media report. It has taken on a restaurant that was previously run by Greens.  

 

The New World Trading Company’s bar and restaurant brand The Botanist will launch in Bournemouth next year, local media. The opening has been delayed by redevelopment work on the location. 

 

Loungers opens its latest new Lounge on Clifton Street in Lytham in Lancashire next week. It is in an old retail unit and will be called the Trevino Lounge, becoming the group’s 237th UK Lounge. 

 

Slim Chickens has just opened its first drive-through restaurant in the UK, at Sprucefield Park in Lisburn in Northern Ireland. Nando’s and Starbucks are also due to open at the development. Slim Chickens has also just confirmed an opening at the Festival leisure park in Basildon. 

 

The Vietnamese Kitchen group will launch a fourth location for its street food style brand Keu on Borough High Street in November. Vietnamese Kitchen has three other Keu sites in Soho, Shoreditch and the City, plus three more London restaurants under different brands. 

 

Wingstop opened on New Broadway in Ealing this week—its 21st location in London. It has four more launches lined up before the end of the year.  

 

The Ivy Collection has confirmed two more restaurant openings: in Canterbury on 29 October and Bournemouth in mid-November. A site on Castle Street in Liverpool is also due to launch before the end of the year. 

 

Rudy’s, the pizza restaurant brand run by Mission Mars, has submitted a licensing application for an opening on St Andrews Street in Cambridge. Rudy’s currently has 30 branches, and another new opening is following on Grey Street in Newcastle. 

 

Velvet Taco, a US-based Mexican brand, is to launch its first restaurant in the UK early next year. It has secured a site near Piccadilly Circus in London. Velvet Taco has around 50 sites in the US, having launched in Dallas in Texas. 

 

Burger & Sauce has applied for permission to open a second restaurant in Nottingham, on Clumber Street. 

 

BrewDog is opening at Belfast Central station in Northern Ireland shortly, under a partnership with the SSP group. It is part of a major refurbishment of the station that will also see SSP launch two Starbucks stores. 

 

Japanese brand Kokoro has submitted plans for an opening on the high street in Ashford, local media report. It is also preparing to launch a site on Queens Road in Bristol. 

 

It’s Bagels is about to open a third site in London after Primrose Hill and Notting Hill—on D’Arblay Street in Soho.  

 

Russian restaurant and bar Zima is to launch in Notting Hill shortly—a second site after Soho.
