The latest news on venues opening across the UK.

The Big Table Group’s pan-Asian restaurant brand Banana Tree is to launch in Stevenage’s leisure park in July. It has taken over a unit that was previously occupied by Firejacks. Banana Tree currently has 20 locations, having been acquired by the Big Table Group in 2022. 

 

Malaysian street food style restaurant brand Roti King is to open a fourth site on Artillery Lane near Bishopsgate in the City of London. The other three Roti King restaurants are in Euston, Waterloo and Battersea. 

 

Seafood restaurant group Rockfish has confirmed four more openings after securing new funding from the British Business Bank’s South West Investment Fund. Locations it has identified for new restaurants include Topsham, Salcombe and Sidmouth.

 

Hickory’s Smokehouse opened on Otley Road in the Adel area of Leeds last weekend. The group now has 14 restaurants, mostly in the north of England, with more openings to follow soon in Gloucester and Gamston in Nottinghamshire.

 

Nando’s opened at the Danum retail park on York Road in Doncaster this week—its second restaurant in the town. 

 

Retro arcade bar group NQ64 has confirmed a new opening on Merrion Street in Leeds. It has taken on a 5,000 square feet unit that has previously occupied by Manahatta. NQ64 currently has 12 sites in the UK. 

 

Soho-based Sri Lankan restaurant Kolamba is opening a second location, at the Norton Folgate development off Bishopsgate in the City. It is scheduled to launch in July. 

 

The Six by Nico restaurant group has submitted plans to open in Newcastle, in an old retail building on Grey Street. There are currently 16 branches of Six by Nico around the UK. 

 

The Inception Group has launched a new 1940s-style pub called Ticket Hall Boozer on Kingly Street in Soho. It is situated above Inception’s Cahoots pub there. 

 

Popeyes is opening an 80-cover restaurant on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow over the summer. It will be the brand’s third site in Scotland and its 18th opening of 2024 so far. 

 

 

The Shoryu Ramen brand is launching in the food court at Westfield Stratford City in July. It will become the group’s 12th location. 

 

Burger & Sauce will open on Ranelagh Street near the Central station in Liverpool in mid-July. It will become the brand’s 15th site in the UK, with at least five more openings to follow in the second half of 2024. 

 

Marylebone’s Alley Cats Pizza is planning to launch a second restaurant on King’s Road in Chelsea. 

 

London rotisserie brand Cocotte has confirmed a sixth site, on Hill Street in Richmond. It will open in July. Cocotte’s other restaurants are in Notting Hill, Parson’s Green, Queen’s Park, Shoreditch and South Kensington. 

 

The Whitstable Oystery Fishery Company is planning to launch a sixth site in the town in July—a brewery and small taproom. 

 

London-based all-day concept The Salad Project is opening a fifth site on Fenchurch Street later this Summer. Its other sites are in Old Street, Oxford Street, Spitalfields and Watling Street.
