The Ladies of Restaurants collective hosted its second ‘In Conversation’ event in London last week, with more than 80 women attending to discuss topical issues in the hospitality sector.
A panel of industry experts including Tonic PR’s Frances Cottrell-Duffield, Pho’s Evita Rasa, Crumble’s Scarlett Dixon and Placed’s Natalia Chassay fielded audience questions about sexual harassment, workplace behaviour, Brexit and work-life balance. The event also debated the need to break the pay gap between genders and get more women into leadership positions. A podcast of the discussions is being made available.
Ladies of Restaurants was launched last year by Natalia Ribbe-Szrok of the Eighty Six List, Libby Andrews of Pho and Grace Willis of Spring. It now has more than 500 members from across the industry, and is seeking to register as a charity next year. It plans more ‘In Conversation’ events and dinners in 2018, and hopes to launch a mentoring scheme in 2019.
