Tapas Revolution and Barburrito are the first names to be announced to open at Halle Place, the new food and drink at the Arndale centre in Manchester. They have taken 2,800 square feet and 2,140 square feet units respectively. A prosecco bar called The FIZZ! Bar, which already operates at Grand Central in Birmingham, will also open at Halle Place. More restaurants are expected to be unveiled for the development soon.
The New World Trading Company is launching a new bar and restaurant concept called The Florist. Its first venue will be a 6,500 square feet property over five floors on Park Street in Bristol. The deal for the site was brokered by Christie & Co. Chris Hill, CEO of New World Trading Company, said: “We are excited to be opening our first Florist in a community which has such a passion for food and city. We feel our combination of award winning cocktails and tempting food will deliver something quite unique to the city. We are very much looking forward to immersing ourselves in local life.”
Pho opened a 120-cover restaurant at the Highcross shopping centre in Leicester this week. It is the group’s 25th restaurant and its fourth new opening of the year. Its next new opening is in Westgate Oxford on 24 October.
Burger concept Patty & Bun and Mexican operator Breddos Tacos have both signed to open at Feast Canteen, the new 350-cover food hall due to open in Hammersmith Kings Mall early in 2018.
Quick service noodle brand Chopstix is to open three new sites over the next six weeks, all located in shopping centres. They will be situated in the Sailmakers Centre in Ipswich, the Arndale Centre in Manchester and the Brunel Centre in Swindon. The openings mean Chopstix will have 25 restaurants in shopping centres, and 74 in total. Co-founders Menashe Sadik and Sam Elia said: “As a result of these new openings, shopping centres across the country now house one third of our overall outlet count, which has doubled in the past 18 months. There is undoubtedly much room for us to grow as a brand, and we intend to further develop our partnerships with retail centre owners in the coming months.”
Drake & Morgan says it will its latest new bar and restaurant in the City, the Listing in Cannon Green, on 6 November. It is a 7,300 square feet that will be open from 7.30am until midnight in the week.
Nando’s will open its new restaurant at the Dolphin Square development in Weston-super-Mare in late October, the local newspaper reports. Other brands lined up for the complex include Prezzo and Pizza Express.
ASK Italian opens a 120-cover restaurant at Bell Court in Stratford-upon-Avon on 11 October.

Mitchells & Butlers is replacing its Toby Carvery in Marlbrook near Birmingham with a new Miller & Carter steakhouse as it continues a renewed roll-out of the brand. The pub will shut in October for the conversion, reopening before the end of the year.
Thai brand Rosa’s will open its first restaurant outside London next year after signing for a unit in Liverpool’s Albert Dock area.
Pieminster is to open a 50-cover restaurant on Division Street in Sheffield in the next few weeks. It will join Pieminsters in Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Oxford.
Ramen concept Ippudo will open a third London restaurant on Villiers Street off the Strand before the end of the year. It will join restaurants in Central St Giles and Canary Wharf, as well as sites in Australia, the US, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan, where it was founded.
The Liberation Group’s Butcombe estate is to run four new pubs in the west country after a combined spend of £4.3m on acquisitions. They are the Quarryman’s Arms in Box, the Royal Oak in Prestbury near Cheltenham, the Horse and Groom in Malmesbury and the Tavern in Melksham. Liberation has now secured ten new pubs so far in 2017, and is seeking to make Butcombe the leading brewery and pub estate in the south west. Chief executive Mark Crowther said: “These four fantastic additions bring us another step closer to achieving the wider Liberation Group’s long-term goal of doubling the size if their estate to 200 pubs across southern England and the Channel Islands.”
Inigo, a new on the go sushi kiosk concept, will open on Great Windmill Street in Soho on 11 October. It has been developed by Australian entrepreneur Jeremy Bliss and Charlie Hall of Code Hospitality, and will serve sushi hand rolls, with prices starting at £4. It will also offer breakfast, salads and soups.
Thai brand Giggling Squid will now open its new restaurant in Bath in mid-October after a building work delay, local media report.

A new upmarket Japanese fast food concept from the founders of Ping Pong and Nobu called Ichibuns has opened on Wardour Street in Chinatown. It is a 3,900 square feet unit with 130 covers over three floors, and has a takeaway counter and bar as well as restaurant. The food is Hokkaido-inspired and includes Wagyu burgers, ramen and cocktails. Julia Wilkinson, group restaurant strategy executive at Shaftesbury, said: “Ichibuns’ innovative and alternative take on a hugely popular food trend makes them an exciting new addition to Chinatown London’s food operators.”
