The New World Trading Company’s Botanist brand will open its 20th bar and restaurant on Church Street in Cardiff on Monday (10 February). Alongside its food and drink, it will be hosting cocktail making, ale tasting and gin pairing masterclasses from March.
Rosa’s Thai Café is to open at the Paradise development at Two Chamberlain Square in Birmingham in the spring. Two other London-based brands, Dishoom and Vinoteca, have also been confirmed for venues at the development. Rosa’s next new opening is at the Old Courthouse on Deansgate in Manchester at the end of February.
All-you-can-eat buffet brand Cosmo is to launch new restaurants in three cities: Liverpool, Glasgow and Dublin. The Liverpool site will be an 11,100 square feet unit at Liverpool One, while the Glasgow restaurant will be at the St Enoch leisure development. The location for the Dublin opening is yet to be confirmed. Savills represented Cosmo in the deals.
Vietnamese street food style brand Pho is to open on Carlton Street in Nottingham in the summer, local media report.
Two new independent concepts have been added by Shaftesbury to Seven Dials in Covent Garden: vegan on-the-go operator YEDA in a 930 square feet unit on 55 Neal Street and Italian concept Arro Coffee in a 650 square feet space on Monmouth Street. It is a first site for YEDA and a fourth for Arro, after Bayswater, Fulham and Marylebone.
Loungers says it will open its new Lago Lounge at Rushden Lakes in Northamptonshire on 19 February.
The D&D London group is to join the line-up at the Pavilion at International Quarter London, the gateway to the Olympic Park in Stratford. The 17,000 square feet venue will have a restaurant, café, brasserie and rooftop bar, with a 3,000 square feet terrace. D&D chairman and CEO Des Gunewardena said: “We see Stratford as an exciting new cultural and leisure quarter of London, especially following the 2012 Olympics, and we are admirers of Landlease’s bold vision for IQL’s development.”

American-style grill and burger concept Smoky Boys has just opened a sixth restaurant at the Xscape Centre in Castleford. It joins other Smoky Boys sites in Amersham, Hounslow, St Albans, Watford and Wembley Box Park, plus a delivery-only operation in Stevenage.
Patri, a restaurant concept modelled on Indian food from railway stations and in dining cars, has just opened a third London location in Ealing. It follows the success of two other Patris in Hammersmith and Northfields.
A new gourmet traiteur and deli called Colette has opened an 861 square feet site in the Sloane Stanley estate on Fulham Road. It is headed by former Ritz Hotel head chef Chris Hill.

JD Wetherspoon has acquired a restaurant unit to convert into a pub in Beighton near Sheffield, local media report, though the opening date is yet to be confirmed.
Taiwanese fruit tea brand Yi Fang has acquired its first café in the north west with a 1,700 square feet space at University Green in Manchester. The deal was brokered by Shelley Sandzer. Yi Fang has sites in Liverpool Street, Chinatown, Soho, Bond Street, Mile End, Canary Wharf and Bloomsbury in London, plus one in Oxford.
