Loungers reached the milestone of 150 sites this week, with the opening of the Fosso Lounge in Wells in Somerset. It is its 125th Lounge, alongside 25 Cosy Club sites. Further Lounge openings are also planned over the summer in Abergavenny, Kings Lynn, Lakeside, Huntingdon and Newbury, alongside Cosy Club sites in Durham and the new Drake Circus Leisure development in Plymouth.
Shaftesbury has announced the line-up of traders for residency at Seven Dials Market from September. They are Club Mexicana, Yum Bun, INK, Rice Guys and Square Root. They have been selected in association with street food organization KERB, with whom all have worked previously. More traders will be announced in the run-up to the launch of the Market, which is housed in an old warehouse by Seven Dials. Julia Wilkinson, portfolio and group restaurant strategy executive at Shaftesbury, said: “The announcement of these five emerging traders is an exciting next step for Seven Dials Market, and sets the benchmark for the quality of offering which visitors can expect when the doors open in September.”
Honest Burgers opened in the arches on Bermondsey Street by London Bridge station this week. The 90-cover restaurant is a 33rd location for Honest Burgers.
The White Brasserie Company will open its new pub restaurant in Highcliffe in Dorset on 1 July. It will be called The Oaks and is a refurbishment of an old pub called The Galleon.
Street food sandwich operator Sub Cult opens its first permanent site on Watling Street in the City on Wednesday (19 June). There will be a small eat-in area as well as on-the-go subs. Sub Cult has been operating as a street food and pop-up business since 2014.

JD Wetherspoon opens its first pub in Dublin city centre next Friday (21 June)—the Silver Penny on Lower Abbey Street in the city. It is Wetherspoon’s seventh pub in Ireland, with previous openings located in suburban areas.
The new Duke Street Market in Liverpool opened on Thursday (13 June). It is home to a restaurant called Pilgrim, from the Graffiti Spirits Group, which featured on the BBC’s Million Pound Menu series, plus traders Cinder, Finca, Cucina di Vincenzo, Bone and Block and Ginger.
The D&D London group is to open a restaurant called 14 Hills on the 14th floor of the 120 Fenchurch Street building in November. It will be a 9,200 square feet modern British restaurant.
Chelsea’s B Bagel Bakery Bar is to open a second site on Wardour Street in Soho. The concept opened on Fulham Road in 2016.
