US vegan fast food restaurant brand By Chloe is to open two more sites in London: in a former Byron unit on Langham Place by Oxford Circus, and at the Icon designer outlet development at the O2 centre in Greenwich. Both will open in late June. It follows the success of By Chloe’s first two sites, on Russell Street in Covent Garden and One Tower Bridge.
Marston’s opens its latest new-build pub and hotel in Clacton in Essex on Tuesday (28 May). It will be at the Brook Retail Park West in the town and will have 180 covers.
Nando’s has confirmed an opening at the Addlestone One development in Surrey for later in the year. US-style grill and bar brand Smith and Western has meanwhile just opened there—a seventh location after Boxhill, Chichester, Horsham, Lingfield, Tilgate Park and Tunbridge Wells.
Coppa Club is to launch a 6,000 square feet site on Brighton Square in the summer. The concept, backed by Hugh Osmond, currently has six sites, in St Paul’s Sonning-on-Thames, Tower Bridge, Henley-on-Thames, Maidenhead and Streatley-on-Thames.
The Cocktail Trading Company will launch a new bar called Murder Inc on Hanway Street between Fitzrovia and Soho in June. The 60-cover venue is designed to be a 1940s-gangster-style bar. The original Cocktail Trading Company bar is on Bethnal Green Lane.
Charles Wells launched its Pizza, Pots and Pints pub concept in Nottingham on Thursday (23 May). It is the result of a refurbishment of the Playwright pub, formerly known as the Orange Tree.
Liverpool’s Red & Blue Restaurants group is to open a pizza restaurant called Bacaro at the Woodside Ferry Village in the Wirral in June. Red & Blue also runs a Bacaro in Liverpool, along with Hanover Street Social, Salt House and Rocket & Ruby.
Manchester tapas restaurant El Gato Negro is to launch a site at the Exchange Flags development in Liverpool later this year.
The Brunning & Price pub restaurant group has opened the Crabmill in Preston Bagot in Warwickshire after a major refurbishment.
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants will open a new venue called Lucky Cat on 24 June. It will be a pan-Asian concept with small plates, a Robata grill and Japanese gins and sakes. There will also be two Chef’s Tables, private dining spaces and a Raw Bar.
Marco Pierre White’s restaurant group is to open a branch of his Mr White’s English Chophouse concept at the Mercure Preston Samlesbury Hotel in the north-west. It should be open by the end of June. It is a second venue in a partnership with the hotel operator, following a venture in Manchester.

Shaftesbury has announced three new dessert brands for openings in Chinatown London this summer. They are Japanese fusion dessert specialist Kova Patisserie, Taiwanese brand Meet Fresh and Taiyakiya, a new concept from the team behind Soho’s Cuppacha Bubble Tea. It is a second site for Kova Patisserie after Soho, and alongside Taiyakiya it will be on Newport Court. Meet Fresh has 300 locations worldwide and will be on Shaftesbury Avenue.
