The prizes, run by Eat Out magazine, rewarded brands and individuals in 16 different categories, while Peter Martin was honoured with the Special Achievement Award. Other headline winners at the awards included Harvester and McDonald’s, winners of the nation’s favourite eating out and grab and go experiences respectively, while Koh Thai Tapas was named brand of the year. Balans Soho Society Café received beat all day menu; HOP was named best new brand; Galvin at Windows took best charity initiative; and Cafe Spice Namaste took the CSR award.

The other winners at the awards were: Chris Clawson at Burger Craft, development chef of the year; ETM Group, group operator of the year; Tossed, winner of the healthy eating award; Yumchaa, hot drinks concept, Green & Fortune Café, independent operator of the year; Thaikhun, winner of the marketing and social media category; YO!
