The Beer + Burger brand has just opened a fourth site, and a first in central London, on York Way in King’s Cross. It joins two other locations in Willesden and Dalston and one at the Mall Tavern in Notting Hill. The King’s Cross bar and restaurant has 20 beers on tap and a menu of five burgers.
Upmarket buttermilk fried chicken brand Yard and Coop is opening a third restaurant in Leeds in late February. It has taken on a 120-cover unit in the city, having previously traded from a Deliveroo site. Yard and Coop launched in Manchester and has since added a second restaurant in Liverpool.
Las Iguanas has confirmed that it will open at Eagle Lane at the Lexicon centre in Bracknell in late March. It joins other brands there including Carluccio’s, Bill’s, Nando’s and PizzaExpress.
PizzaExpress is to open a fourth motorway service station restaurant in partnership with Welcome Break at the Cobham services off the M25. It is due to open in March.
Monga Fried Chicken, a fast-casual chicken brand based in Taiwan, has moved into the UK this week with a restaurant opening on Macclesfield Street in London’s Chinatown. Monga has also been expanding into the US and Canada lately.
Loungers has started recruiting for an opening in Aylesbury, according to local media. It will be called the Rococo Lounge and will be part of the Exchange development in the town, where Zizzi is also confirmed for an opening.
Corbin & King are planning a new casual fish restaurant operation on Greek Street in Soho. An application is in for a restaurant with space for 240 covers and a bar area. Corbin & King’s ninth venue, Soutine on St John’s Wood High Street, is due to open in the spring.
Mitchells & Butlers is to open an All Bar One venue on Grey Street in Newcastle. It will replace M&B’s Browns restaurant, which has been in the location since 2012.
Coffeeshop, bar and restaurant group Caravan has signed a partnership agreement with The Office Group to operate coffee counters at some of its co-working venues.
BrewDog says it will open a branch of its Draft House operation in Aberdeen. It acquired the Draft House brand last year.
Honest Burgers has set 25 February for the opening of its new restaurant on Duke Street in Brighton.
Big Mamma, an Italian trattoria operator based in Paris, has secured a first site in London on Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch. The unit, previously occupied by Red’s True Barbecue, will operate as Gloria.
Fast noodle bar chain Chopstix this week opened a site at the dining area of the Intu Victoria Centre in Nottingham. It is a second location in the city for the brand.
KFC is to open at Queensway in London. The 1,400 square feet site was previously occupied by Tuk Tuk Noodles.
Oodles ‘n’ Oodles, a pan-Asian restaurant at Star City in Birmingham, is opening a second site in Coventry, in a unit previously run by Frankie & Benny’s.
Manjit’s Kitchen, an Indian street food style café in Leeds, is to open a second site in the city after a crowdfunding campaign. It will be on Kirkstall Road and will run alongside the original Manjit’s Kitchen in Kirkgate Market.
Renowned Milan bakery Pasticceria Marchesi is to open a first UK site on Mount Street in London’s Mayfair. It will have a café, bakery and pastry counter, and is scheduled to open in April.
British fish and chips brand Harry Ramsden opened at the Resorts World Genting venue in Malaysia on Thursday (31 January). It has created a bespoke new concept called The Laughing Fish by Harry Ramsden. CEO Tom Crowley said: “Opening in Malaysia confirms the international ambition we have for Harry Ramsden.”
