Digital and delivery will be among the big themes to be explored at this year’s European Foodservice Summit in Zurich from 26 to 28 September.
Star speakers at the annual gathering of sector leaders from around Europe will include YO! Sushi chief executive Robin Rowland, who will present a session on the London market, exploring the opportunities and challenges in one of the biggest and best restaurant markets in the world.
The Summit will be a think tank for the foodservice sector and will tackle digital issues in particular this year. Other speakers on the first day of the event will include Gretel Weiss of Foodservice Europe with a new ranking of the continent’s leading restaurant operators and an overview of trends in the market; and Simon King of Burger & Lobster on the evolution of one of the UK’s most successful casual concepts of recent years. Author Douglas Rushkoff will give a talk on the digital economy and ways it can be improved.
Alongside Rowland, highlights of the second day of the Summit include a panel session on the big issue of home delivery, including thoughts from pioneers of the model, including William Shu of Deliveroo and Andrew Rennie of Domino’s. Eric Partaker of Chilango will meanwhile talk about crowdfunding—something pursues with success by his own brand.
