Cocktail preferences differ markedly around the world, new figures gathered by CGA Strategy and Nielsen CGA on drinking habits in the UK, US and France reveal.

The stats show that the mojito is the most popular cocktail in both the UK and France—but in the US it is pushed down to fifth place by the margarita, daiquiri, Pina Colada and Long Island Iced Tea. In the UK, the mojito is followed in the top five by the Pina Colada, Sex on the Beach, Daiquiri and margarita; and in France by Kir Royale, Kir, Pina Colada and Ti Punch.

The figures also show that berry is the most popular flavour of cocktail in the UK—while ‘refreshing’ leads the way in France and ‘fruity’ in the US. The figures are taken from a new International Mixed Drinks Report that will be published by CGA Strategy in the next few weeks.
