Pret a Manger is to open its first ever university branch on the campus at Exeter University—a move that could herald an interesting new expansion for the brand.

Work on the site will start soon, with opening planned for late April. Pret thinks its offer will play well to the healthier eating habits of students now compared to some previous generations.

Food director Caroline Cromar said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our first ever university shop. This is an exciting new area for Pret and one that we hope will have a real impact on the students living and studying on campus.”

Phil Attwell, Director of Campus Services at the University of Exeter, said: “We are delighted to welcome Pret’s inaugural campus shop in our flagship Forum building, which is at the heart of our Streatham Campus. The new outlet will help to further expand the offering of fresh, healthy foods available to our staff and students.”
