As the year draws to a close, brands with openings either in the last few weeks of December or into the new year include Turtle Bay, Loungers, Bella Italia, Honest Burgers, Prezzo, Walkabout, Tonkotsu, YO! Sushi, Itsu and many more.
Turtle Bay opened in Leeds on Tuesday (15 December). The restaurant is at the Light shopping centre on Albion Street.
Loungers opened the Zinco Lounge in Princess Way this week.
Bella Italia has opened at the Waterfront leisure development in Walsall. It is a 130-cover site over 3,800 square feet. The brand is now up to 92 restaurants in all.
Honest Burgers has secured a new 2,000 square feet site across three floors on Southampton Street in Covent Garden. It should launch in February. The deal was brokered by Shelley Sandzer.
Prezzo opens in Tewkesbury on Saturday (19 December). It has taken on an old job centre unit in the town.
All-day healthy eating concept The Good Life Eatery is to open a third site on Motcomb Street in Knightsbridge in February. It joins the first two sites on Sloane Avenue and Marylebone Lane.
Intertain has opened another new Walkabout in Manchester’s Printworks. It is the group’s fourth newly acquired opening of the year. The Manchester location was formerly a Henry J Beans bar, and has been refurbished into a 600-capacity venue with a £650,000 spend. Walkabout is now up to 25 sites in all.
The New Moon Pub Company has opened a bar and pizza concept called the Bronx in Knutsford in Cheshire. It is its first partnership with Star Pubs & Bars.
Ramen concept Tonkotsu is to open in Blenheim Crescent in Notting Hill. It will launch there in early 2016.
Ed’s Easy Diner has just opened a 2,600 square feet unit at the Frenchgate shopping centre in Doncaster.
Jamie’s Italian is opening in Cyprus after signing a deal with a local operator. The first restaurant will be in Nicosia.
YO! Sushi opened in Chelmsford this week. The restaurant has the brand’s first ever dedicated bar.
Yorkshire-based restaurant and bar brand Filmore & Union will open in Beverley early next year.
Healthy pan-Asian eating brand Itsu is opening in Manchester’s Spinningfields in late January. It follows launches outside the capital in Cambridge and Reading, but this is the furthest afield it has yet gone in the UK.
Busaba Eathai has set 18 January for the opening of its first Manchester restaurant. It will be in the Printworks development.
Franco Manca, Barbecoa and Daisy Green are the latest names to confirm openings at the Nova development in Victoria, due to be completed in September 2016.
Brakspear has acquired a pub in the Cotswolds—the Frogmill Inn in Andoversford near Cheltenham.
Arc Inspirations is to reopen its Banyan Bar & Kitchen site in Harrogate after a £400,000 spend. It will relaunch early in the new year.
